I'm 180 out from your view. That inferno is absolutely awesome! And I am not a flashy color car guy either. Had my previous car held out until now, I would have bought a TRD vs my TEP for sure. It's definitely not worth trading a 14 in for one of these though. I can't wait to see some of these infernos with mods on them.

'14 SR5 Premium Silver w/ 4k miles. Dealer offered to drop TRD (black) price down and offered me a more than fair trade in price in order for me to upgrade. I still owe $14k on the current T4R. What do I do???

regardless of what guys here say about thet TRD Pro being worth the extra money or not and blah blah, the truth is that it WILL have a higher resale value than any previous 5th gen 4runner..so youre making up some of the loss on your SR5 there alone AND youre getting something you prefer and will be happier with in the end...i assume.

Hi All, new to the forum. I have a black trdp on the way hopefully arriving at the end of the month. I'll be giving up my '03 V8 Sport for it.

I'm picking it up in NV and will get to drive it home going through Tahoe - hoping for a storm like we just had

Question to current owners - anybody felt to need to lift/level their trdps or go a size up on the tires? So far I see [MENTION=112774]TRDPRORUNNER[/MENTION] went 275s and his rig looks awesome.

I considering leveling the front end with daystars as I don't want to rip out all the suspension I'm paying for. That said these rigs look awesome out the door.

I saw an orange Camaro
and challenger today. I have yet to compliment the color nor the vehicle but maybe I will with the inferno since I have a trd pro.

It all depends on the lighting. It can look more red, then red/orange, then copper, then pumpkin. It reminds me of some of the chameleon paint that is frequently seen on custom motorcycles although not as drastic of a change. That paint can go from purple to green to silver, etc....

I saw one up close yesterday and I can say I am happy that I am getting an inferno and that's all that really matters to me.

Some people love white vehicles, some love black, those aren't for me but I still think the white and black TRD pro's are kick ass!:amen:

It has seemingly magically disappeared the last few days! Shall see if it last, for now good.

Here are the facts: Last month there was a hold at port that many of us had to endure prior to getting our TRDP's. All excuses from the dealers pointed to an issue to the front end. There was even a port or Toyota employee on another thread that posted a pic of 20-30 TRDPs at port and stated that at his location they could not replicate the "issue"

Here his my theory: the drivers that unload thousands of Toyotas and 4Runners noticed the elusive "Clank/Clunk" on the TRDP's we are hearing and raised the issue that led to the hold and a QC check had to be done to make sure there was no problem. As a side note when I took a look at my TRDP which sat at the NY/NJ port for 3 weeks there where markings on all the lugs and specific suspension bolts, including the front skid plate bolts before they washed it off in the prep. IMHO they re-torqued everything and determined its there is no major issue.


It is still very annoying to hear it and if anyone figures out what it is, please let us know.

I'm new to the forum-new TRD PRO owner for a week now. I have not heard the Clank/Clunk at all-so I wonder if there is an issue on some trucks. Mine did arrive with a faulty tire pressure sensor that took a day to fix/replace. Other than that everything is good. I've enjoyed seeing all of the pics on the forum so I'll have to post one of my own later! Thanks for all of the helpful info from everyone!

I haven't seen a TRD pro in person yet.

The local dealer had a tundra TRD pro in orange front and centre 2 days ago. It is now gone. Good looking truck.

Do the tundras also get fancy suspension too?

PIAA vs Stock Headlights

Changed out the headlight bulbs today from stock to the PIAA H11 Xtreme Whites. Some of you asked to give you feedback once I did this. It met but not exceeded my expectations. The bulbs themselves are well made and feel like better materials are used over OEM bulbs. The 55=110 watt claim is a bit misleading in that you can assume that you may get double the light out of them.


Verdict: They appear to be about 10% brighter than stock bulbs. They are less yellow. I prefer these over the the cheap HID conversions that make headlights look like blue flood lights. I have included some pics for you to take a look at.You can somewhat see the difference between the light from the fogs and the headlights. PIAA's are definitely less yellow.

I think that looks pretty fukking cool. I especially like what I've heard about how the color changes depending on lighting.

That being said, still don't think I'd want to own one in Inferno, more so just admire from afar. For me personally, once the novelty factor wears off I'd think I'd regret it. I'm still happy with my choice of white.

Finally got out on some dirt, no issues what so ever. Easy 15 miles on an easy trail to get my TRDP dirty. Was fun playing in some mud after the rain here in Southern California.

A few photos from today's adventure:

Gonna get the pressure washer out tomorrow and do a little pre cleaning before taking it to the car wash.

Took my best friend with me, and now he's scheming to get an off road rig, and another friend is not trying to see if he can get a TRD PRO Tacoma.

I see lots of discussions on the Inferno Red color so I thought I would repost these pics that I had previously posted. These photos were taken in direct sun at around 11AM here in AZ. The close up, in my opinion, gives the most accurate representation of what you can expect from the color. As you can see, there is lot of copper in the color that comes out under direct sunlight. You can also tell by the color of the sky, grass, and pine trees in the background, I didn't crank up the color saturation or modify hues in any away during post processing. I knew this was the color for me after seeing the color in person under direct sunlight back in May 2014.
