4runner TRD Pro

Picked mine up over the weekend after some unsuccessful negotiating...seems most dealers really want to sell these at sticker and won't budge given the relative demand.

As a side note, I didn't know these came with the non-Trail Premium center accessory meter. I miss my SR5 with all the cool stuff in the center. Guess I just gotta get used to only having a clock there...

yeah i wish they've kept that display on all models, not sure how its better to have it on the center info display if you have to select it it out of a bunch of other info

All TRD Pros ARE NOT the same. If they were the same you think they would have caster, camber, toe adjustments? Headlight adjustments? Slotted holes for sheet metal alignment and hinge alignments? Try to hang a vehicle door sometime lol.

You think all TRD Pros are built with ZERO tolerances and stack up heights? No.

You could take two identical TRD Pros and put the same 275 series tires on stock TRD wheels. One could rub and the other could not.

I meant why trim some and not others. Which was answered by time of discovering the issue. Those after that point get/got cut it appears. So not Toyota picking and choosing tolerances of some get cut/some don't. They seem to all be getting cut now.

The triming of the front fender is due to the additional up travel of the suspension

If you have a VIN I can tell you everything about its whereabouts and add ons....I'm not sure if I can locate a vehicle by dealer but I'll try anything! lol

I just saw trd pro at the local dealer in Tupelo, Ms. First one I've seen in person, and it was very sharp in black. Price was $43,330 or something like that. Seemed a bit salty, but it sure looked good!

Yep. All I was trying to ask is why some are cut and mine seem to not be.

One guy here GUARANTEED that they would be cut...but another guy claimed some have it and some do not need it or earlier delivery. See an issue here?

I have cranked my tires all the way over and have more than a couple inches of clearance and mine is not cut so I am fine with this of course.

The problem is when the wheels are at/near full lock. When at/near full lock the leading circumference edge of the tire would actually be even closer to the fascia if the front was slightly lifted as seen in the prototypes. This is why I suspect they brought the lift down.

Right, I am with you. I am willing to bet if they left the taller suspension that this wouldn't have been problem. This in fact may be the reason that Toyota didn't know about the problem until they launched some of the production TRDPs in the real world. Hahaha! I am still so shocked over this.

Hey BTW, do you have any more good photos of your sexy TRDP? Your photos have me counting the seconds until my Inferno gets here.

Pulled up to a stop light today, with father in law shotgun. A mid looking 20 year old rolled up next to us. He puts down his window looking at me, I drop down passenger window and word for word he said "cool ****ing truck brother!" My father in law looked over at me laughing and said "I get that all the time when I'm in my Sentra" LMAO.

lol, I will ask my wife if she will take some more...she is pretty good at photography, definitely don't want me taking those pics with my cell phone! She loves her Inferno, she even passed on a black TRDP that they were offering to throw in the DVD headrests ($1,499 option) and knock off the $500 dealer fee.

Nice! I have passed on a good number of white and black ones as well. Each of which they were offering various discounts on. However, nothing as cool as DVD head rests. If you have to beg the wife to snap some shots no big deal, I know how that goes. She did a fantastic job on the previous photos.

Here's a shot of my Super White TRDP. Still curious about removing the Toyota lettering from the grille.

The Toyota Logo portion of the grill is held on by multiple (like 13) plastic clips. The black cover and logo, I believe are 1 unit, and once removed will reveal the portion under that will have the slits for all the clips. If you are interested in removing and selling that piece, I would be very interested in buying it. However, I am skeptical that you would like the look after it is removed.

Thank you... That's the answer I was looking for. Wasn't sure if it was all one piece or if the letters were attached with an adhesive like normal badging. If they truly are held by clips and it is 1 unit, I will leave it as-is. Thanks again :thumb:
