4runner TRD Pro

Mo*on

He has no point so don't worry about it. Congrats on your purchase. When you get it you will love it! That wait is going to suck though, lol. Start planning on a few of your upgrades or changes.....

You paid MSRP? You got hosed.

Supply/demand in action. Its that simple. I barley got anything off the MSRP of my Trail Premium and I usually get very good deals on my vehicles.

As much as I love Toyota, that have been a pain in the ass on the TRD Pro and availability. Seems to be by design at this point.

It's not supply and demand. There is plenty of supply. It's called not willing to shop around because you're lazy.

or not giving crap about a couple thousand dollars....not enough to drive hundreds of miles for it instead of your local dealer.

And this day in age you can be lazy and shop around. its too easy with cars.com and edmunds.com and their email to dealer quotes. you can be on your couch and have 4-5 dealers fighting for your business...thats what i did for my last 2 cars. youll never get a better deal face to face vs internet sales dpt (life tip). plus it really is the only way to find the car with the exact option you want without calling and dealing with all the ignorant salesmen at every dealer.

that said, i drove to arizona form LA, but thats because in here in LA all the dealers were marking it up 3-5k..and while thats still not TOO big a concern to me at that price range (encroaching), i refuse to give my money to a-holes.

Or maybe you were too lazy to read my post. I looked for weeks and talked to a ton of dealers in Texas and Oklahoma. I was willing to travel to get it. I couldn't secure one even being willing to consider paying MSRP out of town. A lot of other factors played into getting it now rather than down the road too but I don't feel the need to justify it to anybody.

I only took offense to you saying I got hosed and that I'm lazy lol. Not to thinking it's dumb to pay MSRP. A lot of people would agree with that, I think. I didn't get hosed because I knew exactly what I was doing. I'm not lazy. lol I've got better things to do than haggle for 6 weeks with dealers who have people buying their stock before it gets to the lot. Oh look, here I am justifying it...well shit. You win. I'm a huge dumbass that can't bring myself to get off the couch...lol

There's an ancient philosophy out there that you may not have heard of or didn't think was worth your time. I'm paraphrasing but I think it's something like 'Try not to be a dick'. I do my best to follow it. I thought you should at least get a chance to read it then decide for yourself whether it's any good for you or not. Let me know how that goes.

But he put a cool little video with his putdown so..........I'm guessing he missed the part about looking all over TX and OK for one but hey whatever. The guy got what he was after and he's happy, or will be when he's cruising around in it. Thread trolls are just gonna hate to be haten.
You are right though, the internet has made things a lot easier when shopping for darn near anything these days!

Paying retail for a supply limited item isn't getting hosed. Buying the extended warranty, protection package, high interest long term loan and gap insurance is getting hosed. Most of those F&I slugs make $200k per year because they know which end of the hose to work.

i read your post. there is always someone willing to undercut someone else to make a sale - thats great that you looked around, but it sounds like you weren't looking in the right places. sorry i offended you but thats how i see it - if you're willing to spend thousands of dollars for a slight bit of convenience thats fine, its your money - but i see it as whole heartedly foolish. i work way too hard for my money to throw it away because some retard in a cheap suit thinks a TRD Pro is special enough to warrant MSRP or MSRP+ pricing.

the supply isn't tight enough on TRD Pros for it to be even reasonable to pay that much money. every dealer has one, and every dealer is getting one next week. I'm happy you like your truck, and I'm happy you got one as the 4Runners are great and the Pros are pretty cool. but supply and demand isn't a contributing factor here. dealership being *******s is, and people giving into their demands because they have a hole in their pocket. i feel sorry for the person that paid MSRP for a Trail Premium, that guy is really getting his ass reamed out.

hell, there are dealers who are willing to sell Raptors below invoice pricing. i can walk into my Toyota dealer and buy a Pro tomorrow for 1% above invoice price.

i tell it like it is, if you'd like to interpret that as me being a dick then go ahead.

You make a lot of assumptions and judge based upon not knowing any background on folks contributing to this board. Throwing the lazy boom-a-rang right back at you.

Lol

Most of us do, but please keep coming over to this sand box and entertaining us with your opinions. You are what you are.....don't hide it.

don't worry, i'll be here - at the very least i have to make sure that drsus guy doesnt try and plate his truck gold

I was lazy really didnt want to drve more than an hour away since that is the closet dealer. But in the end i even was so lazy that I bought it while visiting family in Florida since I was there anyways. And only paid $37k something like at. Did I get hosed to for bei lazy? i think when u are younger $500 here and $500 there are worth chasing more, dont inow but as I get older my time becomes worth more than the headaches it causes trying to get tha extra $500. If you can afford it and are happy then more power to you. I am sure there are those out there that even got it for less but will end up paying more because they dont realize that there interest rate is where they got hosed!

Saying I got hosed isn't telling it like it is. It's talking sh*t. But it doesn't matter. I ain't mad...lol. Just wanted to clarify that I'm not lazy and I didn't get snowed. I just made a decision on something I wanted and it happened to have landed at my local. I had plans to drive to lawton, weatherford and a few other places but if they weren't sold out from under me they were traded to other dealers while I was talking to the sales person.

FWIW, reading my post and muttering to yourself, what a fool is not being a dick. Posting that I'm a lazy dumbass is being a bit of a dick. That philosophy I mentioned doesn't say don't be a dick. It just says try not to...lol. I think you could've managed not to in that instance...that's all lol.

No matter. Your 2010 is bad ass. I'm gonna love my TRDP. All is right with the T4R world.

No hard feelings here.

Sorry for the double post but off the topic at hand (my lack of intelligence). The dealer in Lawton emailed me back and said really sorry but the listed price on our Inferno was wrong. It's actually 46500 or some such craziness...She said there was a Baja 1000 champion package on it. Has that 'package' been mentioned here? Is it that vinyl wrap that the chase vehicle had? :artist: Here is the fact sheet she sent me:

Below that she wrote:

Dealer Adds : BAJA 1,000 Champion; Running Boards... $46,166

All kinds of weirdness on this one...lol. Connectivity kit? Glass break sensor...eh..Appearance Package? I'm sure those things exist and maybe make sense, but I have looked at at least 15 of these fact sheets and none of them had these options...Anybody familiar with em?

Based on the zip code, in Lawton, here are photos of one from their dealer page :

New 2015 Toyota 4Runner 4WD 4dr V6 TRD Pro

That is crap that the dealer added to it to make a larger profit margin. I would look elsewhere. Ther eis no such package besides what the deal makes it to be. If they said this before the vehicle was even there or if you ordered it they are playing with your wallet.

Factory option:
sliding tray

Port:
Running boards, etc.
Clear bras
Paint protection
Remote start
Exhaust tip
Toyota Protection Option

Dealer:
apperance packages: crawler, baja type, etc.
Remote start an be a dealer
Running boards
Most of the port accessories can be added
Tinting windows
Rims, wheels, tires.....
Others that i cant think of but that about does it. Hey an think of crap to pile on there to get more for the vehicle. They usually load out the limited editions to make there margin for profit higher.

Thanks. I didn't buy that one. I bought one locally. And now I wait...and obsess. :ranger:

edit:// Oh and that is one that got traded to another dealer...I had already signed on the local at that point. I have noticed in my cars.com travels that Oklahoma dealers seem to modify (and mark up) their 4runners pretty heavily. Lift kits, wheels, roof racks etc, all on newly delivered cars it appears..

I got the first one that came to town, got it right off the truck. I paid $38.7 for mine with window tint, free tires for life, and 5 year service.
