4runner TRD Pro

Wow, well I guess all I had to do was get on here and ask what to do and one would kind of fall in my lap! After waiting over a month for a black one to get to long beach port (hoping to trade for white), this afternoon I started calling some dealerships in CA and after being pointed to a couple different ones with no luck, I spoke to one in Fremont who just got a white one in today. I spoke to the fleet manager, booked my flight and am picking it up on Monday! I'll have a nice 6 hour trip back to Orange County to bond with my TRD. I'm stoked it worked too because earlier this week I had a full cash price offer for my 06 4runner.

Seems like this is the only white one in CA right now according to the dealerships so I feel pretty lucky! Can't wait to join the club. It's been fun reading through this thread. Pictures will come soon.

DAMN YOU! I was looking for a white one everyone but couldn't locate one. I had to settle for a black, I don't mind either...but I located one in the east coast and paying $1400 to ship it to the west coast!!! Oh and I'm 45 mins from Fremont...Blah!

Wanna trade? LOL..J/K...Mine should be coming in any day now..

blacksheep4 yep was in B Co 1/21 from October 2002 to around July 2006. What company were you with.

I did get rid of most of my wheel shake by airing up the tires to 36 psi, even though they say 35 max. Did also notice the dealership did scuff up my wheels a bit when they did the rebalancing, but I didn't notice until a couple of days ago when I finally gave the truck a good wash and hand wax.

Now to get a full roof rack, my 19 1/2 foot Wilderness Systems Northstar Pro will not be secured enough by the shitty half rack for my taste. Had to toss it on my wife's subie for a 350 mile trip. She 'loved' driving that around lol.

Its funny. I've only seen one other TRDP on the road, and it has been when I am in DC/NoVA for work. I have either seen the same Inferno TRDP *twice* in the past month, or I've seen two different Infernos. Once was in Tysons at the intersection of 7 and Westpark, the other time (this past week) was on 66 (it was going east, I was going west in a rental).

On a different note, I just dropped my Inferno off today to get some clear vinyl wrap (front/sides/back) and black on the hood and roof. I'll post pics once it is done.

Can't wait to see what it looks like with the blacked hood and roof. Any worry of damage to the paint after prolonged use?

LOL, that was me on 66...I am in north western Loudoun County above Leesburg! Congrats on your ride! I am also interested in the wrap for the black portion, so I am eager to see those pics. You know how it is here in Nova...drive East int to the sun on the way to work, West in to the sun on the way home....the hood scoop is blinding me with polarized sun glasses, need a better solution!

I figure this will end up a ratty, still-charging truck someday and I don't plan on selling it, so I'm not worried. I love the patina that a 4x4 takes on through use and exposure. That said, the paint will mostly be protected by the vinyl as I am getting it covered all-round (clear where I want the orange to show through, black on the hood/roof).

Ha! I lived in NoVA for 7 years, so I totally know what you mean. Only for me, I was heading West into Tysons for work each AM, then East and home to Arlington in the PM.

I'll post pics in a couple of weeks. I've dropped the InfernoTRD off, but it will take a week to finish and I'm out at a work conference in Vegas most of next week. I'm assuming it will be done by the time I get home.

Picked up my TRD Pro yesterday. I had an 8 AM flight to Fremont, hopped on the BART to the dealership and was on the road back to Orange County around 1 PM. It took me about 6 hours and was worth every second. This thing is unbelievable and I couldn't be happier.

I thought it would feel a little underpowered compared by my 06 SR5's V8 but it has plenty of power. Happy to join the club! First mod was removing that front license plate....I'm a little bummed it has the holes but I still think it completes the look. Next up, I'm getting the windows tinted on Thursday :)

Been thinking matte black on middle third off roof on my white TRD Pro would look sick! Thoughts? Would follow the two outer raised lines in hood that "V" towards front of truck. Hope that made sense.

Something like this? (only yours is white -- I realize)

Do it! No harm in trying.

congrats on the new Runner. I've been waiting for someone to dip a 4th or 5th gen to look like a classic 4Runner with removable hardtop in this manner. I think it would look sweet. you could always vinly wrap it instead of dipping it as well...

Picking up my TRD PRO right now. She's finally HERE!!

Ordered it January 31st.

Psa

Guys, if any of you are crazy like me and are or were thinking of changing tires to something say like BFG KO2's because they look awesome and work just as well then I'm here to tell you I'm so glad I made the change last week. Now this was just a want and not a need obviously but I can tell you that in my opinion the Nitto's cannot compare to the BFG's. I would like to think that had the new KO2's been available when our Pro's were being developed then it may have been the stock tire. Yes, I'm that impressed and it's only been 5 days. So if any of you are on the fence jump on in. The road manners in the dry and the wet is just great. You won't be sorry.
Crappy cell picture.

That looks awesome. I have to admit, every time I see a black or white I kind of regret that the Inferno was all that was available at the time I bought mine. Then when I see it, I still get pretty stoked...lol. So, guess that's all that matters huh? :) Looks bad A man.

Those look pretty great man. I have so many other things that I need right now. When I run these down I will definitely be looking at those BFG's tho!

TRD update

I posted back in October when I first got delivery here in Colorado. Haven't done much with her since it's been snowing since day 1 and now it's all melted. I tossed up an ARB Touring Rack and Simpson III tent. Next step is a set of Rocky Road sliders and a spot on the wait list for the ARB bumper. A couple of families up here are going to tackle the Kokopelli Trail over Memorial day and then back roads to Durango for a week. Pictures to come. IMG_2051.jpg
