4runner TRD Pro

New here.....What type gas mileage are all seeing out of their TRD PRO's?

Just picked up our 2016 a month ago, should say the wife's new ride. Our kids are starting travel less and less with us so we traded her Mercedes R350 in, was starting to nickle and dime us on repairs; this was our replacement from our old TJ (were running 4.56 gears, ford 8.8 w/Detroit soft locker, d35 w/ox locker, 35's ect... list goes on & on).

We have seen TRD go as 16.7 MPG and after the snow last week it seems to have settled in at around 16 MPG. We only have around 2,500 miles currently. Just curious to know where peeps are seeing their MPG settling in at with more mileage than us.

At around 2500 miles, I'm getting about 15.6 [emoji15]

With mud tires, bumpers, etc, I'm doing about 15.8 hwy, and 13.8/14 in the city. But I have a LOT of gack on my vehicle. The snorkel helped a ton on the hwy oddly enough.

Thxs for the replys on MPG..

LawnDart, post a pic with that snorkel or point me a direction where I could see one of it.. Had an ARB snorkel on our old TJ, if definitely added little HP and the sound effect was pretty cool.

This might be bad news for people waiting for allocations or that have ordered:

Toyota may halt Japan car output in February due to steel shortage | Reuters

Evidently Toyota may need to shut down Japanese auto manufacturing for several months after an explosion last month.

If anyone is in the market for a Pro in Quicksand, Jim Hudson Toyota in SC has one coming in. They said it's going to arrive on the 8th. I was originally trying to purchase through them, but they were going to have to transfer from another dealer, who wasn't willing to part with it. I am not affiliated, I just got an email from Jim Hudson saying if I was still in the market, they had one coming in. They seemed pretty good to deal with when I was trying to go through them. I found one at another SC dealership and pick it up on the 18th when I return from overseas.

Just cancelled my order on an MGM TRD Pro because one of the guys at the dealer had one in Inferno Orange he was selling. Which is what I really wanted. So I bought it! They're fixing the remote start right now and I should have it in the next couple days! It only had about 3900 miles on it too. I'm busting with excitement!

Just had to chime in quickly on the mpg note; I had been running consistently 16.8-17 mpg per the internal 4R computer overall since I bought it the day before Thanksgiving. I have just a hair under 5k miles on it now about 2 months later (!). My driving is about 50% country roads, 25% hwy, and 25% in-town stop and go. I thought the number might be off and per my own calculations over time it was about 1mpg shy of reality. Whatever, NBD.

The other day, I disconnected the (-) terminal on my battery to do my HID install. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery obviously resets many of the internal functions of the dash display including the mpg measurements. Since I reconnected, it's settled in at 18.4mpg.

Moral of the story, do your own mpg calculations that AREN'T based on your odometer or internal computer but outside sources like google maps and your fillups. If you think your computer measurements are way off based on your driving, you can always disconnect the battery and reset.

Jim Hudson is a great dealership. I've owned 5 new Toyotas but my experience with Harry Armstrong at this dealer was by far the best. Took about a week (Dec 15)to get me a trail with KDSS and leather. Harry knew his product and zero pressure. At that time he had a TRD Pro, and a couple of trails.

Thanks to everyone who has posted their stories on getting their pros! Very helpful.

I thought about ordering from two dealers and seeing which came first - unfortunately that would require $2,000 here. I had to put $1,000 down on the first one - not $500 like a lot of you are saying.

Here is a pic of my other "sand" toys!

Port processing tomorrow ...

How long after that? Mine suppose to gets here in 6 months. But I called the dealer and told them that I found another dealer that will have one available by the end of February and that I was switching to that dealer.

After a few minutes they called me back and told me that they will have my truck here by 02-12. I could't understand why they said that it was gonna take 6 months.

BTW they gave me the window sticker

Just got a call from my salesman today, saying that the TRD will allegedly arrive on February 15th.

I'm about ready to go get a trd pro 4Runner and just curious what everyone's out the door price was? Were you able to get them to give it to you at ~42k out the door?
