Man...keep looking. I was in your boat, and patience paid off (no pun intended). I'm in Houston, and yes, all the ones I could find when I was shopping four or five months back were $2-3K over MSRP, plus dealer add-on BS.

I ultimately got mine bone stock (2016, new) for $46K, out the door. I ordered it from a dealer I've bought three (now four) Toyotas from, and therefore avoided any add-on BS (Just delivery, and TTL). I had to wait 2 months...but am glad I took that route. Considering the '17s are hitting the floors, this also may get them to come down a bit on remaining '16s.

I'd hate to see anyone buy a used one for what you could get a new one for (or more) without due diligence. Just my $.02

Totally and yea - $46k for a new white one I would do in a second. The 2016 for 46 that guy is selling is practically new with only 6k miles...but yea, not quite there - it does look and feel brand new though. The shipped one scares me because I can't see it in person, but I had a 3rd party inspector take a look and pics etc - looks like zero is wrong with it.

Any sense in me reaching out to your guy at your dealership? I would fly out and drive it home no problem if it was worth it. I just don't want to feel like I got nailed on this thing. Sweet rig btw!

I have bought a 4Runner and Tundra, both TRD Pro's, from both dealers and they did not have any mark ups.

Also Toyota dealers can only charge MSRP. They can add a destination fee and some other misc fees. Vehicles of high demand are bought by used car dealers and marked up 10K but you won't see that from a Toyota dealer.

Not true based on firsthand experience.

Dealers will charge as much as they can/as much as buyers are willing to pay. Happens with every vehicle in demand.

Hey guys - almost at the end of my search. I live in LA... and I need the advice from you guys if either of these are a decent deal.

1) $44k all in - 2015 Superwhite TRD Pro - 11k miles. Shipped from PA to CA. Platinum warranty until March 2022 - Dealer.

2) $46k all in - 2016 Superwhite TRD Pro - 6k miles. 300 miles away. Factory warranties - Private seller.

Thoughts?? Dealers around here want 10k over invoice... not sure what differences there are in 2015 vs 2016? Any info would help.

Note - the 2016 has running boards and cross bars. The 2015 has rear cargo deck.

Tony Divino in Ogden UT (801) 394-5701) also does not mark up. I would bet they will have an order in for a 2017 already (most likely in cement). I know stir_fry_boy bought his from them, although he is from AZ

Totally wrong! A dealer in AZ marks up $5k to all TRD PRO models because they say it's high on demand. Even when I told them that I found another dealer with a MSRP price, they said (literally): Ok, good luck. From a Toyota dealership.

I ended up buying a trail premium with KDSS but that's a different story...

Both places were SUPER nice...getting back to me tomorrow - they are trying to track a new white 2016 for me. they aren't doing preorders yet on 17s, but yea - you guys are awesome for the connects. All of them charge MSRP... can't believe I almost bought used for so much ($46k!!). Thank you and will update!

I really wanted a TRDP and was willing to pay MSRP for a new one, or 2K under for a nice used one. I understand the whole supply/demand thing, but it just my principles, if not I was going to wait for 2017s. I was willing to fly out to get one too. I used cars.com, cargurus, and autotrader to find TRDPs anywhere on the east cost. Most that were listed as in stock were long gone or maybe were never there, seems they don't update the inventory just to get calls. Stay away from truecar.com, your phone will ring (and won't stop ringing) as soon as you enter your number. Not necessarily a bad thing, I had every dealer near me trying to locate one. They all came back saying that 2016 TRDPs are gone, one said that dealers who actually had them would not do dealer trades, which told me that there were some still around. I was able to find 3 within 250 miles on my own, two quicksands and one MGM, the color I thought I really wanted. Over the phone I was offered one quicksand at MSRP, second at a grand under. The MGM was about 5K over and would not budge. When I told the guy I found one under MSRP, he told me to run and get that one. Which is pretty much what I did, got even bigger discount, and I really love the quicksand color. And I enjoy answering the calls from all the dealers that could not find one for me.:wink2:

If your dealers can't find one, don't give up. I spent lot of frustrating hours online and on the phone, but it paid off. If not, from what I read so far white color will still be available next year. Good luck.

My local Toyota dealer (in northern NJ) told me the other day that they will take a $250 deposit to hold a place for me when the TRDs come out. I haven't gotten back to them, yet. I want to know how can I know if this dealer is legit to what they're saying. They said the TRDP won't be arriving till Nov to Dec.

Before leaving a deposit down, what questions should I ask them? What should I be signing? What if in Dec. they still can't get the TRDP and I'm left wasted 2 months?

I did not go through with it. I decided on a TEP with KDSS and I bought from a different dealer than the one mentioned above.

Get some sliders. A ton of em stick out just enough to keep that jerk with the door swing from hitting the paint.

I ended up getting APM research steps that stick out a good 4" when I leave them down. 0 parking lot dings. Cnat say the same from road and beach debris

I feel like they can do whatever they want. Also for some unknown reasons, the TRD PROs are not included in the costco car program. They're included in many other states, but not old AZ.

Finally got to put the Bilsteins to work:bluejump:, and the skid plate too, on NJ pine barren trails. Been raining for a week here, so plenty of mud pits, some were much deeper than expected :tongue:. VERY impressive how the TRDP handles bumps and mud even at decent speed, day and night difference between that and my old jeep.

Here is quick video of the first mud bath we went through, wish we stopped to take videos of the bigger ones too, but we were just having too much fun...

The quicksand color really does match the mud splatter. Almost too well Other than the tires and rims it doesn't look like the 4R needs a wash.
