4runner TRD Pro

Got some black treatment done. Powder coated roof rails. Wrapped hood scoop and fender flares. Tinted front windows to match. Also wrapped whole front, hood and roof with Stek film.

Cement 17

dealer finally texted me a VIN this week and said my new ride should get here by the 14th or sooner.. I ordered it back on Dec 28 with a $500 deposit and willed myself to try and forget about it after that since he said 60-90 days for delivery. I followed this thread closely and I don't think i would've made it without all the good info on here. Just a few more days now!

Do you know the what boat yours came in on? Mine arrived in Portland on Monday the 6th but no word on when it will get to the dealer in Spokane, Which sucks becasue I am in Seattle.

I dont... I know it arrived in Portland on 2/25, and apparently there was a QC spot check so that delayed it even more. I am in Seattle as well, and had to get mine through olympia... with work quitting time and traffic, i probably wont make it to olympia in the evenings so i am just hoping it arrives closer to the weekend lol.. hate for them to have it available for test drive while waiting for me to come in.

Per say. May have received an inside deal. $300 to powdercoat an entire skid plate though, so as long as you can take off the rails, I would imagine they would be cheaper than $300.

I was thinking about just painting the rails with the same material as line-x.. you can get that stuff in a can for pretty cheap.

If I see it there I'll be sure to plant my happy butt in your seat and take her for a spin ;) JK haha. They shouldn't test drive it since it is pre-sold. Plus from the time they get it they have process it at the dealership, code keys and that jazz. They'll be lucky to even show it off for a day

In addition to what Superwhite17 said, I would hope that your sales person, being aware of the distance, would be able to call you the day before it arrives to set an appointment with you for after it arrives. My salesman in Aberdeen knew it was arriving a particular day and let me know, then called to confirm it was there and set the appointment in my case for the following day. Happy for you to finally have it arrive!

How much is the STEK film? Looks like a really cool product.

The price will all depend on how much coverage you want. I had the whole front end covered. That included the headlights, foglight, valence, bumper, hood and side fenders. I also had the whole roof wrapped. I plan on putting a full roof rack up there so I knew washing and waxing up there would be a pain. The Stek film is hydrophobic so the water just runs off. Also knowing I'd be throwing stuff up there, the added protection is a plus. Just the Stek film, I ended up spending easily north of $2k. Yeah it's a lot of money but to each his own. The shop I went with did a good job and you can't tell it's there unless you look real close and run your fingers. I had my previous car wrapped with Xpel and the shop I go to, they don't use it anymore. They use only Stek now and the difference is night and day.

I'm about to be a new proud owner of a white TRD Pro. Been wanting one of these for awhile, sent out a few emails today and happened to find one that the owner just backed out of. Great timing. Was not expecting to be purchasing so soon based on a lot of the feedback here. Excited to join the family!

I've been patiently waiting for the dealership to get the license plates in so that I can pick my trdp! The wait is killing me but for some reason MA has a weird law with out of state purchases. Does anyone know how long it takes for an expediting company to complete a registration? (I know all states are different)

That is weird. I've never heard of a dealer requiring you to have plates prior to taking the car home. Most states allow temporary tags. Good luck and congrats though.

Yeah my salesperson is pretty cool. She's only been able to give me a window, which is basically today through monday. I'm pretty sure when it comes in she'll call me but i'll still have to wait for the processing.

Here's something interesting, for those who question the cost of the TRDP...

I received the build sheet for the 2015 that we bought 2 weeks ago. The MSRP was $41,890.
We paid $40,500 for it, with 20k miles.

So, someone drove it for 2 years and 20k miles and it only depreciated $1390.

Also - I spoke directly to two different people at Toyota corporate about the production numbers of the 2015 TRDP.

Oddly enough, Toyota will only reveal that approximately 3000 TRDP's were built in 2015 (which confirms what has been mentioned here several times). They will not reveal the "exact" number, nor will they release a breakdown by color.

I can't figure out why they want to keep it a secret. I feel like it would only serve to benefit Toyota and the owners by confirming the rarity of these units... Weird.
