How much was your total

$44593 - exactly MSRP with the added options. I tried talking him down some but was unlucky. I did manage to squeeze $1500 more out of my trade-in though, so felt happy with the overall transaction.

Here's something interesting, for those who question the cost of the TRDP...

I received the build sheet for the 2015 that we bought 2 weeks ago. The MSRP was $41,890.
We paid $40,500 for it, with 20k miles.

So, someone drove it for 2 years and 20k miles and it only depreciated $1390.

I'm sure it depreciated another 3-4K for the previous owner when he sold it back to the dealership. Regardless, these seem to be holding their value really well.

Yeah my salesperson is pretty cool. She's only been able to give me a window, which is basically today through monday. I'm pretty sure when it comes in she'll call me but i'll still have to wait for the processing.

Curious to know when those of you who had vehicles arrived at Port of PDX end of February/early March get confirmation they are on the way to dealers. Mine came into PDX this week as well. The dealer has told me there is a significant delay on the most recent batch related to port processing (not related to TRD rim back order) and he cannot confidently predict a window. He'll update me when he gets more info.

I'm just picking it up in PDX, so no significant transport from port to the dealer for me. Due to travel schedule, I have a small window to pick up at the end of the month and hoping the port issue is resolved to keep on schedule.

Got some black treatment done. Powder coated roof rails. Wrapped hood scoop and fender flares. Tinted front windows to match. Also wrapped whole front, hood and roof with Stek film.

Damnit! Beat me to it. Looks good. I was quoted $500 to have it done, but not in a huge rush. Really trying to get the scoop or find low profile fender flares in black. Bushwackers look good,but a little to extreme in black on the cement.

I got called on feb 25th telling me it was on the ground (port). She assumed it would be there for a couple days and arrive that week. She called on march 3rd and told me the status reflected that it was on freight (truck) and should be any day. When I called back to follow up on march 8th, I was told she was initially wrong about it being on freight and it ended up staying in port longer than anticipated but it is definitely on the truck now and that is when she gave me the window of March 8-13. I have yet to get the call, so hoping for something over the weekend.

Drove my first for about the same with 38k miles on it when traded. Wrecked it to the tune of $23K before trade, still got $36K for it. Now the dealer is trying to sell it for $39K, which I pray someone doesn't buy without checking the Carfax. Without going too much into detail, I pretty much drove it for 2.5 years without spending a dime in maintenance, and got a new one with a lower payment. To those who want to argue between a TRD Off-Road and a Pro, there is certainly the aspect of sustained value due to rarity on the TRD Pro. May save you money up front going with the TRD Off-Road, but I guarantee it will makeup on the back end with the Pro.

The price will all depend on how much coverage you want. I had the whole front end covered. That included the headlights, foglight, valence, bumper, hood and side fenders. I also had the whole roof wrapped. I plan on putting a full roof rack up there so I knew washing and waxing up there would be a pain. The Stek film is hydrophobic so the water just runs off. Also knowing I'd be throwing stuff up there, the added protection is a plus. Just the Stek film, I ended up spending easily north of $2k. Yeah it's a lot of money but to each his own. The shop I went with did a good job and you can't tell it's there unless you look real close and run your fingers. I had my previous car wrapped with Xpel and the shop I go to, they don't use it anymore. They use only Stek now and the difference is night and day.

Thanks for the info! I haven't wrapped any cars in the past but was thinking the same thing about the roof rack. Would be hard to keep clean and running some paint protection seems like a good idea. Thanks again!

Also - I spoke directly to two different people at Toyota corporate about the production numbers of the 2015 TRDP.

Oddly enough, Toyota will only reveal that approximately 3000 TRDP's were built in 2015 (which confirms what has been mentioned here several times). They will not reveal the "exact" number, nor will they release a breakdown by color.

I can't figure out why they want to keep it a secret. I feel like it would only serve to benefit Toyota and the owners by confirming the rarity of these units... Weird.

I had the same experience last year when I was looking. I got different numbers but all were around 3,000 to 3,500 per year. Its pretty safe to assume that there are around 1,000 to 1,200 of each color per year with Super White being the only repeated color.

I wonder if there is data from previous years based on the VIN code that states that it's a Pro???

I was trying to figure this out too. When you look up how to read the VIN it tells you what all the letters and number mean. But it doesn't designate anywhere what model you get SR5, TRD OFF ROAD, Limited or TRD Pro. Just the sequential number of 4Runners produced. Would be fun to know though how many exactly.

Don't know why Toyota would be so coy about disclosing production numbers on the PRO, I'm sure they exist. Limited / low production vehicles have historically been "money in the bank" in terms of resale / collectibility. Time will tell where the PRO 4R's shake out, but I think the small premium a buyer pays for a PRO could pay dividends down the road. The few '15 and '16's that have come up for sale, seem to be holding their value quite well.....dare I say, better than other 4R models? Just my 2-cents.

Mine came in on the 2/16 ship and finally had a processing date of 3/14 assigned today. I live in Portland and am hoping to have it by next weekend for a drive to the coast. But after the month long port wait I'm not counting on anything.

I hope this isn't entirely true. I am assuming my Port arrival was on 2/24, considering I got my call on 2/25. I then was told that my cement reflected freight status and should arrive at the dealer 3/8-3/13.

All I can say is to have your dealer screen shot you a copy of the dealer daily for your truck. That's really the only way you will know for sure the dates on your truck. All I'm doing is relaying the message my dealer here in Portland got from his contact there. He sent me my dealer daily today finally showing a processing date. They may jump some ahead of others but no matter the color the port is installing the same options to make it a TRDP. Luckily I have my trusty 94 4Runner to drive, which runs like a top @247k. Still is going to be my daily driver. That truck can't be beat in snow with bfg's on it.

Thanks for the update regarding port timing. I just told the dealer to keep me in the loop. I'm in no hurry and it will be ready when it is ready.

I was thinking Gobi no rise for hauling canoes. Going to stick with my Yakima railgrab on stock rails until I settle on a choice. Typically only hauling a single canoe, but do carry two from time to time on extended trips. Thinking I could use Gobi only with single boat and railgrabs on Gobi with extended bars for dual boats.

Buy it. U won't regret it! Lots of dealers charging way over msrp and people are paying. Used one are selling for over new sticker or sticker.

Well Im back

Left the Runner world for a year. Went to a RR Sport SC. While I will forever have the rover virus. I couldn't forget my Runners! I walked away from a 16 TRDP in Gray, went to the RR. While it was good to me, capable, and a formidable road going warrior. I never felt so pretentious!

Was able to grab a 17 cement (the reason I originally walked on the 16) from my local dealer, its in A cat on DD. I am pretty happy to be back. Deposit set last night, and bumpers, rails, rack, suspension ordered today.

If anyone is wondering why Im back? Look at the prices the used TRDP are getting, its a no brainer. Any 4runner is a no brainer on value but how do you deny driving a car for a year and basically doing so for free? The RR? hahaha Im still bleeding from the anus on that..

Ill post pics regularly once she's on the tarmac.

i've seen dealers advertising way over msrp but who is seriously paying that? you have to be a special kind of stupid to buy a car at +msrp lol
