It sucks because I was excited to see cement in person but there is noway I am spending $45k on a color I dislike.

To each their own. I probably wouldn't drop $45k on a truck I wasn't 100% sold on either. I wouldn't call you a troll just because you are one of the few that don't like cement. GL finding the truck in the right color.

You should weigh the cost of the PPF vs the depreciation hit you'll take for repainting the front end. And it's not that expensive. I did my ENTIRE STI for $6k. The most I've ever paid besides that was $2k and that was the entire hood, front bumper, fenders, headlights, fog lights, a-pillars, side mirrors, rocker panels, lower 1/3 of the doors, and the rear bumper behind the back tires.

Nice, is that what you had done on your trd for 2k with xpel? That's a great price. That's basically what I got done with xpel along with new car prep

Read up on what a lot of people have to say about the new taco drive train. Then go test drive one. That's what convinced me to go with the 4runner. I personally liked driving the 4.0 better and it's tried and true.

The 4.0 drivetrain was the final push between the 4Runner and the new Taco for me as well. By the time I drove them both I was about 70%sure I was going to get the T4R, but after driving the Taco I was positive I didn't want it! I liked the suspension on the Tacoma, but that was about it. If they put that garbage in the 4Runner, it will be ruineduke:

My Experience as well. Test drove several Tacoma's. TRD Sport/Off Roads with 6 Speed. Very smooth clutch and short throw shift. The sitting position was awkward for me (Very Important due to severe leg injury) Didn't like the ride and the engine was non responsive compared to the 4.0L in the T4R.

I opted for the TRDP and well worth the wait.

My dealer just told me he probably cannot get a White TRDP and that a Cement/elephant/whale color is all he has coming into Seattle soon.

The cement has my name on it if I want it and today I was able to see a Cement TRDP in person. I was right. It looks flat and like it needs a paint job.

But ITS A KILLER VEHICLE for people who like the color. Some people don't like white or red. Big tucking deal.

The color works better on a pickup. I was being nice when I said its a cool color but now screw it I will go with honesty.:sorry:

My advice to anyone is to see a cement 4runner in person before buying it because you might experience color remorse like the dude in Washington who changed his mind immediately.

Its a big bad world out there and guess what? Toyota didn't hit a home run with the cement color.

You don't like it, but it sure looks like the most popular/in demand color for this year. Guys are having a hard time getting one. Dealers have asked for adm's above sticker and in some cases probably got them. I'd say that's a success for Toyota.

Plenty of folks on here who have bought white/barcelona red because they didn't like cement. It's perfectly fine, and they didn't get up on their soap box to insult the others either.

So I've been looking for a TRDP since Oct of last year. I turned down a quicksand last year because its just not my color. In the past week I've been told of two available. Ive had my name on 4 waiting lists. So i just put my deposit down on a cement Pro. It has the sliding cargo tray. I'm hearing differing opinions on it. Dealer said they will try to get it removed as the vehicle is just now being built. If not they said they would remove it for me. But i was reading that a lot of people are now saying they really like it. Either way i dont care that much. At least I'm finally getting one. Will be sad to turn in my taco but cant wait for the TRDP

No dude I am not crying about anything. Its just a Toyota 4runner and spending $45k on a vehicle is not a big deal in 2017.

Obviously Toyota is going for "unique" colors with inferno Halloween orange and Desert storm military sand and telephone utility truck cement on the TRDP series of vehicles.

I own a 2016 Jeep Hardrock Rubicon and Jeep also has some weird colors that Jeep owners talk about.

All the people who have purchased a cement know they have a killer vehicle with a unique color.

So Toyota sells a vehicle with primer on it and I get to be the ******* on here who calls out Toyota for a really strange color?

And my region will not get the Red TRDP by the way. My dealer has only been able to get 5 cements.

Sure seems like there are a lot of cements. I wonder if Toyota produced more cement TRDPs than white and red.

I really doubt anyone here is insulted by my comments on the cement color.

Which dealership are you getting your truck through? I couldn't wait for the NY dealerships to get their allocations, so I went out of state

So the story is that I went to a local NYC dealership back in January to leave a deposit for a Cement TRDP - I rather not say which dealer because the sales guy is a great guy. When I left the deposit they said it should take 6-8 weeks and we agreed on the price of $41,500 which included all weather mats, delivery and doc fees (but excluding taxes). He called me late March and said Toyota could not fulfill the order for approx. 6-8 months. At this point I requested a refund on my deposit and decided if I really wanted this car I had to start a more proactive search. I had read on this forum that most people searched on autotrader and cars.com to find which dealers had them in stock. The thing about these listings are that they are most likely 99% sold or way above MSRP. But I did a search anyways and decided to try my luck on maybe someone backed out on buying. I stuck with a range of dealerships 500 miles from NYC.

I called a dealer near Boston, Pittsburgh and Washington D.C. as well as a few I can't remember. The dealer near Boston had one in stock but deposit was already put and considered sold. They had also sold another TRDP in February but the order on that car was made in late 2016. They said may be able to locate one in 4-6 weeks but no guarantee on that time range. The dealer in Pittsburgh had an allocation coming in 8 weeks with no one leaving a deposit but had over $1000 in additional add-ons. The D.C. dealer had one in port awaiting delivery but was asking for MSRP + $8,000 for a total of over $52,000.

I had really good feeling about the dealer near Boston and decided to roll the dice with that dealer - Bristol Toyota. I put down a deposit of $1,000 with Sharon Jorde at Bristol on March 22nd and before I knew it, she called me on April 3rd and told me they got the car for me! I cannot say enough great things about Sharon and Bristol Toyota. It took less than 3 weeks for her to find me the car. So I drove up to Bristol early yesterday morning and got the car back in my driveway by mid afternoon. The story was they traded a pick-up truck (not sure if Tacoma or Tundra) to another dealership in the metro-Boston area for the Cement TRD Pro cause the original buyer changed his mind on the 4Runner.

I can't say if Sharon or Bristol Toyota can get another TRDP but I can say that they are a pleasure to deal with and would definitely consider my next Toyota purchase with them even if they are over 200 miles away from me.

Yes you can request. The bumpers come with a guide hole so dealers know where to drill.

As far as plate rules, varies state to state.

My experience with locating a TRDP and purchasing it was exactly the same. I had ordered it from a dealership out here on Long Island at invoice cost back in June hoping for it to come sometime in the fall. Dealership couldn't get me the truck and didn't tell me until January, so a member on here helped me locate an inbound vehicle going to Prime Toyota in Boston.

My experience the same. Dealer located exactly the TRDP I wanted in a few weeks. Barcelona Red without any add on Options at MSRP

There might be a used cement trdp being returned to Bristol Toyota. The owner feels like it is too much of a gas guzzler.

I'd prefer the sliding cargo tray, and I didn't get a chance to add one to my build. It's functional to pull out heavy gear, you can sit on it like a tailgate, there's some storage under it, and it makes the cargo area flat when the second row is folded (nice if you sleep in the back while camping).

Some have gotten rid of theirs, others have added it second-hand. Either way, don't let it dictate buying/not buying this awesome vehicle.
