Timing @ Port

Dealer called today and the vehicle left Japan on 5/29 and has an estimated arrival at the port of 6/10. They said they expect it to be in as early as last week of June or as late as first week of July. I've read other post where the car was in the port for a week but I have also read that it was in the port for months. Why the hold up? What do they do at the ports? Just hope I can get it before 4th of July!

Can't wait to start posting pictures and all the mods I have in store!

I think this is the problem; it takes so long to process in port there is a huge backlog. As posted above, Pro arrived in port late March and did not arrive to the dealer until 2-3 months later. Curious why it takes so darn long!

Well, hells bells. My dealer says expect a month after port. Good news is ship left 5/29! I like to think the 9.5 weeks or more at port are one off's

My dealer is telling me that the projected delivery is two weeks after port and that they have been dead on for them for the last year. Only hiccup could be the wait for a full truck, but sounds like there are plenty awaiting delivery.

Also might matter what port they arrive at. Mine arrived at Long Beach.

Very well could be my bad... so somewhere in my communication with the dealer there was misunderstanding with dates for port arrival. I thought port arrival was 3/28 when it was 4/28.

So 36 days from port arrival to dealer. Mine was in port for about 3.5 weeks in Long Beach then went to Benicia Ca before heading to the dealer in Madera.

Hope this makes those waiting feel better, sorry for the bad info.

I got a call from the dealer a on 5/22, they had a cement Pro heading east from Japan. I paid for it, boat made port on 6/3. It's on a train heading to my dealer today. Two days ago, they got notice they have another cement Pro being built that was allotted to them. My buddy paid a deposit, expected to arrive in July.
They had a red Pro about a month ago, so this dealer in Utah got 3 Pros within 3 months.

Some posts here say they were able to get it at MSRP and no dealer markup. Cases like that seem to be very rare and will probably be nearly impossible as the year progresses. I've seen dealer markups from $2000-10000. I think typical markup is around $2000-4000.

I'm really debating if I should wait for a 2018 - but I do like the unique Cement color.

Rooftop Tent

Anybody uses the OEM rack on the TRDP for a RTT? I've heard that it works just fine but you need to get shorter screws than the ones provided by the RTT company. I've also heard not to do it but have never heard of any horror stories. I ordered a rack but it won't be here for another month and I would really like to use my RTT as much as I can since sunny days here in Seattle are very rare.

MSRP is golden for sure! From what I've heard 2018 will be more like the Canadian model with sunroof and blinkers in the mirrors. I went ahead and got the cement just because it's such a unique color and I could careless for a sunroof as I am getting a full size roof rack.

My buddy has been running his on the OEM roof rack (sleeping 2) for a while and on some long excursions so I would not have any concern

How do you know it's left the port? Mine was on he same boat and the dealer said they only know that it's projected window is 11th-16th

Dealer assumed it left Long Beach. They double checked and it's stuck in port inspection...

Can anyone with a 2017 TRD Pro confirm what setting the front coil seats are sitting at? I thought I had read somewhere that TRD Pros come with the driver side set to the higher one to account for lean, but it looks like mine came with both setting on the lower perch.

just checked mine, passenger side is on the lowest perch, the drive is his on the higher perch

They do indeed come that way (left high, right low). Check to see if you have two RIGHT shocks (will say 'RF' vs 'LF' on the part number). They should be different part numbers.

I have got an RF and LF. It is sitting at just a smidge under 1/2 lower on driver side (measuring from center hub to fender) on a full tank of gas. Measuring on flat ground from ground to fender is the same (just a smidge under a 1/2 inch difference). I didn't notice this until I went to install the toytec 1 inch bottom coil seats and saw that my 4Runner was setup this way. Thought I had read on here numerous times it should be left high right low. I installed the seats and aligned it. After install and alignment it still is measuring out the same. Not sure if I should break down the left again and raise it up.

My drivers side is on the higher perch. Passenger is on low bottom perch.
