So the vehicle has been in process through customs since yesterday. Apparently supposed to know when it'll get here today or tomorrow. Anyone know how long the process is? Going to call him out on it tomorrow if I don't hear anything. Been at port since the 9th..

Mine arrived at the port on April 28th. Processed out and was on truck for delivery from Houston on the 29th. I drove it home from the dealer on the 30th.

I think it varies for a bunch of reasons. I know the truck mine was delivered on was expedited because it had to get some Corollas from Mississippi to bring back to the port in Houston to leave on the same ship that brought my 4Runner in.

Mine went to portland and arrived may 30. Left on railcar to chicago on 6-5. Arrived in chicago on 6-14. Arrived at my local dealer on 6-17 and this dealer was about 6 hours from chicago. Hope that helps.

Not a TRD Pro, but according to the dealer my 4runner arrived at the Port of Portland on the 10th (probably same ship as people reporting the 9th?). On the 15th, the dealer told me the vehicle hadn't been off-loaded yet because the Toyota processing volume at the port (servicing 21 states) is unusually high this month, and my region (NW region - dealer is actually in Portland, a couple miles form the port) reached it's "maximum" so other regions are processing first. Next dealer update stated the vehicle is supposed to go through the "processing facility" on the 21st (today) for addition of (non-TRD) accessories and arrive at the dealership tomorrow. Haven't heard anything for a couple days, so we'll see...

Edit: I should mention the fleet buyer (overall great to work with throughout the quote/order process) said he called the regional office on the 15th to find out about the delay in off-loading the vehicle, and the contact there marked mine as "HOT".

Wondering if anyone has recently completed an order for a 2017 build?

I stopped into my NW Ohio dealer last week to check on getting in line for a 2018 TRDP assuming 17 was no longer an option, was informed that the TRDP would NOT be produced in 2018 but they could get me into a '17 still. I was even told I could get a Cement... built!... I put my $ down and started the process...until Monday morning when I was informed that Cement was not an option anymore (for a new build) but there was still a chance to get into a white '17...during this conversation [with the inventory manager this time] I was told that the the Pro trim was in fact going to still be run in 2018 on the 4R so I gave them the mean mug look and decided this may have been an oversight on my dealers part. Given I don't really like the Blue shade of next years model I will end up with the white anyway so I told them to proceed with the attempt to allocate a white 2017, being told on Monday that it will take 1-2 days to know for sure the order is placed. Keep in mind, they are swearing up and down that they cannot/could not and will not get a TRDP 4R in stock without a customer ordering it personally, and that no other dealer can do this either. So today I call for an update and I am now told that they have to wait "through an entire allocation cycle" to verify that they will be able to fill my order and they will not know for sure that it can be built until end of first week of July???

Given Toyota will only be running 1500 or so of this trim package (so far as I can tell so far) I have to assume that they have completed production for the year and I better start scrambling to scoop up a '17 while they are arriving at dealerships. That said, I started haunting cars.com and then spoke to a dealer this morning about 200 miles from home who listed one last night, but was already sold this morning before i called but has 2 whites coming in, on the boat but not in port yet, due to arrive mid July that are not "promised" yet to anyone and she is already working to initiate a sale with me...but I am kinda in limbo with the runaround I am getting at my local dealership.

Having read a large chunk of this thread and various other research I think it is fair to assume I am in the right direction now becoming my own broker and taking the road trip to pick up the vehicle I have had a man crush on for over a year now and ditching the sales pitch rhetoric I have already gotten... but would enjoy hearing some reassurance either way, and sticking with the original question... does this dealership even stand a chance of getting one ordered to build?

I'm in Ohio as well. I just bought my third trd pro in last two years so i know the process very well. If these white ones are on the boat then they should have vin numbers and production dates already. If they have that and are willing to sell you one for msrp (or under if you are lucky) i would jump all over it. I wouldn't order one at this point because you might not get it.

I also want to add that there is more competition than ever for trd pros. Dealers on the west coast are buying up used ones nonstop. 1 dealer in Cali has like 10 used ones. Other dealers are trying to buy new ones from dealers and those dealers are willing to pay over msrp for them. My local dealer has a cement for sale for over 51k and if it's not sold by now they will get it. My used quicksand with low miles sold immediatey on the west coast for 51k after i had it for 19 months!

Agreed with tank40. If you can get your name on a Pro that is in transit, you should go for it if it's MSRP or less. 200 miles is nothing and you don't want to pass on a sure deal when there's no guarantee your local dealer will get an allocation.

Since you're in Ohio, try giving Dean at Toyota West a call and see if he has any coming in. Not sure how far that is for you, but they seem to get a lot of TRD Pros.

If all goes well after work this morning I will get this sorted out and have the VIN in hand by noon and only need to wait it out for a few weeks as opposed to months. The e-mail and conversation from the new dealer stated clearly they were AT MSRP so I have no issue with that whatsoever. I'll keep ya posted.

I was very lucky earlier this year to snag an SR5 for a rental that we picked up in Vegas, drove through Death Valley, The Sierras, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite and dropped off in San Fran... yup, a 1,600 mile test drive through the desert, mountains, snow, sleet and rain with 4 grown adults... I can't believe everyone is not driving these things haha

Curious, yours arrived to port then left the next day. Aren't the TRD Pro parts installed at the destination port? They did the whole Pro upgrade plus unload off a ship and get it onto a truck in less than a day?

After checking with my dealer it seems that the inventory/backlog is starting to clear out a bit from port, so hopefully shipping will speed up. My pro is now set to arrive beginning of July, cant wait!

First rule is never believe what a salesperson says...They never have factual information especially for upcoming model info. I hate dealing with the process. I have been dealing with a long distance 4R Pro deal(9hr drive each way). They don't seem to want to bother with me. I am trading, so that complicates matters. Basically just trying to nail down a trade value before I make the trip.

My dealer is offering the P4 protection package for "cost" ($274) on my new TRD Pro. Apparently it includes the following:

-Lusterizing Sealant
-Sealant Cleaner
-Fabric Guard
-Rental Car Assistance
-Paint Protection Film

The only thing from the list that seems somewhat valuable is the paint protection film. Is anyone familiar with the P4 package, and if so, can vouch for whether or not it's worth $300?

Deaer sold it. I sold it for msrp. Dealer paid to ship it.
