Well then that is a pretty awesome ride, but not a Pro and not worth 41k. If I wouldn't have liked the Cement color so much that is the exact 4R I would have bought.

So I walked into our biggest Toyota dealership on Saturday and asked to see a TRD Pro. They had a Tacoma in cavalry blue, which I liked, but the wife hated. They didn't have a Pro 4Runner so we looked at the Off Road Premium trim level. The wife loved that, but I was ambivalent about a non-Pro, so we walked. Later that afternoon, I got a call from the dealer that a Pro had just rolled off the truck, so I zoomed over there and took a look. I hadn't seen a picture of the black 4Runner TRD Pro before, so I didn't realize just how awesomely bad ass it looks all blacked out like that. Had it trailing in the woods with less than 100 miles on the odometer.

I have a Cavalry with my name on it, which is supposed to arrive by boat on 4/8. Had to go to a dealer out of state, since all CA dealers are marking TRD Pros 8-10k above MSRP. Best I could find was a dealer wanting 5k over. This will be the first car I have ever purchased at MSRP, something I never thought would happen. Before now, I always managed deals well under sticker.
I guess it's a sign of the times with the demand for low volume models - i.e. Raptor, GT350, etc.
BTW, Toyota.com shows that Cavalry is no longer an option, only Black and White. I guess the entire build allotment is spoken for.
If it falls through, my trusty 3rd gen which I bought new in February, 2002 will be just fine.

If you're willing to go out of state, you should be able to find one at MSRP. I went to Utah and got mine at MSRP, even though they were asking for a markup. Won't name the dealer as they were a complete clown show to work with, but the price was right.

What area were you trying that in? Here on the east coast, I can still at least "build" a blue pro 4runner on Toyota.com...
I tried for 6 months to get one in my own and several surrounding states with no luck. Then by luck, I found one in a dealer 20mi away, had just came in. Bought it the next day. Very happy with the purchase, got a couple hundred off MSRP, about the best one can do on these.
All CA dealers are not marking up the Pros. There is a dealer in SoCal that sells them at MSRP, however there is a wait list unless a buyer backs out of purchasing then it goes free for all.

I found that checking inventories online was sketchy, and that even calling the dealer was only partially accurate. The dealer I actually bought from had told me over the phone they had both the Tacoma and 4Runner in the TRD Pro trim and only when I arrived did I learn that the 4Runner was in transit.

You're right. I just went back to Toyota.com and you can build one in Calvary. This wasn't the case last week - stated Calvary was no longer available.
It seems like there is a bolus of Calvarys coming, based on a lot of the recent feedback from forum members. Maybe Toyota is responding to demand. Who knows.

I'm trying to understand what the real world difference is for those of you who have driven both the TRD Pro and TRD OR models (preferably more than just test drives). I love the way the Pro looks, but I'm wondering what differences you felt in 1) daily drive 2)offroad drive and 3) anything else.

there are a few dealers in Ca that will sell for MSRP, I called nearly every Ca dealer to locate my Cement Pro last year
Toyota of Vallejo This is where i got mine, ask for mike he was awesome

If you want a good laugh check out Mossy Toyota in San Diego, they had a Calvary blue taco and runner last week, 15k over msrp

Pro tip.... if you don't have a VIN and a build sheet, it doesn't exist, if the dealer has one in route, they will have the build sheet

Carlsbad Toyota is putting on aftermarket parts and marking up $10k+, in addition to lowballing trade-ins.
Mossy is ridiculous and IMHO they're responsible for a lot of the inflation on Pro prices down here. They buy up used Pros from the midwest and still mark them up $10k over new MSRP. Talked to them about a used Cement Pro from Iowa that they had listed for ~$55k, "we'd never try to price gouge you, we're already into this car for $50k!." LOL yeah right.

I pass Mossy three times a week, their pro's don't last, someone is paying up, and paying up big, they had a used cement at 62k, it went on sale for 58k. Who pays these prices???
