Hey everyone,
I did a manual hub conversion on my 4Runner and am running OEM Tacoma non-ADD CV axles. The outer joints are clearly different to let them work with the Aisin hubs. The inner joints are similar enough to allow the non-ADD axles to work fine in my ADD diff.
Now I am trying to install a diff with a Detroit TrueTrac in it and there are fitment issues. It seems that length of the splines are shorter on the Tacoma axles, based on a limited set of pictures I have seen.
I'm trying to determine now if it would be possible for an ADD inner joint (the three-roller mechanism and the end) to be grafter onto my non-ADD shafts in place of the original inner joint. Do you think this will be possible? Will the splines on the center shaft accept the ADD joint?
Thanks
