I order some new ones from Performance Products today.

However, the previous ones are still there and it has 3m adhesive tape there.

My question is, How can I remove it without removing or stripping the paint?

I get some pics up asap.

thanks .

Dental floss works well if the adhesive is gummy but the floss may break often too. I've used the string, or whatever you call it, that they tie up balloons with too. It's stronger than the floss and didn't scratch.

Peel away a little bit from one corner, then take the dental floss and move it up and down between the wind deflector and the vehicle.

I used a product called Goo Gone on my truck that seemed to work really well without damaging my paint. I used it to remove my old sunroof wind deflector as well as some fishing line and it came off fairly easily.

x2 on Goo Gone

I've used it on both my 4Runner and BMW to remove the dealers decal off the back. No ill effect on the finish.

I got the fish line and tried it out.... Works great.

However, because it the 3m didn't hold up to it. I had to tape it down for over 2 years and the tape glue is on the 4runner's paint.

What can I do to remove the glue from the tape that is on the 4runner?

to add on, 1 of the 4 piece was missing from it when I received the package.

When I opened it. the package was opened from previous owner and returned it to the shop.

The warehouse people just re wrap it with bubble wrap and shipped it off. :(

3M adhesive remover will work but you need to be careful and use minimal rubbing as it can dull the paint (clear coat actually) but if you do get carried away it can be buffed back to a shine but the 3M stuff will work.
