Finally MY build thread WooooHoooo. So some of you may know but my 4runner addiction started when I bought SCRunner12 3rd gen limited from him and instantly fell in love. So i started to mod and change a few things to how I wanted it and thought that i was gonna keep it forever.

Until the urge to buy and get into a 4th gen started to happen. MO POWA was all i could think , couldn't justify a supercharger anyway i searched for months after selling my 3rd gen and finally a 4th gen appeared. After going to Sacramento 2 to many times I finally settled and decided this is the one so I pulled the trigger. Picked her up for 8700$ has 154,000 miles 2003 SR5 4x4, had a few extra goodies like sunroof, spoiler, ac115v button thing and came with a touchscreen deck and wired for stereo (will update when i have time):reddance:

Current plans
-Toytec boss lift 2,5 - 3
-295/70/17 Ridge grapplers
-SCS Ray 10 17's Matte Black
-Aftermarket headlights SPCC i think is the brand
-Fix my Dash Lights (some are out)

Future plans
-Sliders
-bumpers Demello or Relentless
-Winch Smittybuilt 10000 synthetic
-Wheather tech floor mats
-amp and sub prob a 8inch
-UCA total chaos and some sort of mid travel icon??
-Skids
-possible 1 inch body lift and body mount chop
And so much more:humble:

Maintenance
-All sorts of fluid flushes
-Ball joints upper and lowers
-Outer tie rods
-Basic filter changes inside and out
-detail engine bay

So I decided that i needed rims. Im not a huge fan of the stock ones and hate plastidipped wheels. Picked up 4 "blemished" Ray 10 17's matte black, to be honest couldn't find a thing wrong with them. Thanks Vin
So Pretty

Now off to the man who gives me new "shoes"

Today got my tires went with a 295/70/17 wasn't planning on e rated because they are damn heavy at 91.4 pounds a tire (with) rims but still that is damn heavy. Tires look great I personally dont have any experience with Nitto but have heard nothing but good things and had Ko2's in the past so time for a change.
now pics....

Im sure they will fit Right? will just rub a little......

Stay tuned lift comes Tuesday :hail: but i am a college student so give me some time to do my work :thumb3:

Little shot of the interior fixed the deck the back plate was crooked and pushed in also cleaned out the cubby thing there was some of "that devils lettuce" in the bottom of it so soaked it and threw it out. Wasn't sure where to put the SCS sticker so put it there dont think it looks too bad

also have this weird thing coming from my deck its a wire with an alligator clip anyone have any ideas?

Can't wait to see it all mounted, have been looking for someone to put 295 ridge graps on! And you have scs's so I can see what some 295's look like compared to my 285's.

Good choices so far!

Sweet 4th gen! Part of the reason I sold the 2000 in the first place was more power, even when I had the supercharger on it. Did you get the V8?

Hopefully the 2000 went to a good home, you did good work on it.

I debated getting a V8 but for some reason I couldn't justify the constant 4x4 as I drive 45 mins to school everyday and Have driven my buddies Taco and the 4.0 has plenty of power for what ill be doing. And i hope that the 4runner went to a good home, they came over from Vegas to pick it up... it was a sad day:cry2:

Wheel/tire combo looks great, and holy sh!t is that heavy! Hopefully they hold up well off-road, I knew E-rated tires were heavy but didn't realize just how much. What do the wheels weigh in at? I'm pretty sure the 285/70 Toyo AT2s my father has on his truck are 55-60 lbs/ea. come to think of it

295/70's are 63lb each. Those wheels are 24.5lb. So 87.5-88lb roughly, depending on scales and how much the air weighs! Lol ;-)

Nice choice on the rims. That will look much better than dipped stock rims for sure.

One alligator clip coming from the a/v unit? Maybe a source of power for an external/portable device? I had a wire hanging out from the radio on my 08 and I traced it to an XM Radio power adapter tucked behind the dash. From the XM Radio adapter were 2 wires that tapped into the power and ground from the radio.

Today I received my lift Hell yeah:uzi:

Anyway here are some pictures of it out of the box I have recently took the "BOSS" stickers off the rear shocks and yesterday I removed my front struts and sway bar and other things to make the assembly go easier. Today i bolted up the new shocks and tightened everything to speck. How do you guys tighten the top 3 bolts can't get a socket and torque wrench up there so I did them damn tight by hand. I went with the HD rear coils for when I haul random stuff and wanted a not to soft ride in the rear.

Also i bought some angel Eye headlights by SPPC off of amazon and give them a shot already have new harness and stuff for the headlights. The lights pretty bright on them as well

Upon finally wrenching on my 4runner I found that I need a CV (boot) and new front brake pads, I haven't checked the rear. Also snapped 3 bolts while taking the stock skid off so that blows. Lift will be finished up tomorrow with rims and tires on. Will post pictures tomorrow.

You my friend have good taste! I have the same 4Runner (basically) and the same wheels (basically) and am planning on either 295/315 Coopers or Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Your build is like a foreshadow to my own.

Oh, and Rob's ( SCRunner12 ) old 4Runner was badass. I too loved my 3rd Gen ;)

Except your 4runner is Soooo clean and will be a killer rig/ dailydriver. Also love what you did with the 3m Carbon fiber wrap. Looks Great. Everything will be coming along here soon...

I have a real problem with this Build Thread, I know you mentioned earlier "give me time to do my work" well there are no excuses. You got the lift Tuesday, it should have been complete with wheels and tires on! The pics you posted aren't good enough. I want to see 295's mounted and done!

I like the 295's but the weight is a lot compared to the "C" 285's

Whoa! You waste no time! Can't wait to see the mods. I wanted to do 295s myself but my buddy that installed my lift talked me out of it. Can't wait to see them on.

I have 295's on my 05 with just a leveling kit before I put Fox on.

Ask and you shall receive :llama: I had school at 7 this morning and finished about an hour or 2 ago did it all myself I'm debating on lifting the front to a full 3inches as it comes set at 2.5. But all and all looks great. Rubs on my front mudflaps but ill take them off soon and also took off my running boards. PICS BELOW:jaw:

Have some other things to do like prep and clean the undercarriage and paint. Also put my factory skid back on and install my new headlights and find a place to put my scan gauge. Also when the "Running lights" are on what lights come on on the outside? need to wire my halos to it ...

Looks great, nice work! I wonder why they include the rear bump stop drop spacers though? Are the shock's compressed length that long? Wonder what their extended lengths are? I might need to email them for curiosity's sake.

Are you selling your old headlights to me? PM me if you want to.

It has SR5 wheels, SR5 black mirrors, but no SR5 plastic cladding? Are you sure it is a 2003? Guess I've never seen a 2003 4Runner without plastic cladding without being a limited model.

Edit: has to be a limited with the leather seats, but still no color keyed mirrors, roof rails, or silver trimmed running boards. I am thoroughly confused.
