4Runner010's Build Thread

It has SR5 wheels, SR5 black mirrors, but no SR5 plastic cladding? Are you sure it is a 2003? Guess I've never seen a 2003 4Runner without plastic cladding without being a limited model.

Edit: has to be a limited with the leather seats, but still no color keyed mirrors, roof rails, or silver trimmed running boards. I am thoroughly confused.

From what I understand I think you could decide what you wanted when you bought it from the dealer ? Correct me if I'm wrong but I do have a receipt for paint or some type of body work So maybe he had the cladding painted ??? I also have a sunroof and "spoiler" and the 115v button which were options correct ? i mean i will check if its a 03 haha... It is.

Looks good! Makes me want to swap my wheel amdntire setup to 17" instead of the 18" I have.

I like the smaller wheel+fat tire combo, digging the SCS wheels too.

So your lift looks amazing, and I will be doing the same to my 04 t4r very soon. I have a question about your headlights tho. It looks like you got the newer style headlights from the 06 and up I believe. They are shaped differently and that little clip that goes underneath is shaped differently as well, I am looking forward to seeing what it ends up looking like on your truck. I think headlights will be the first thing I do to mine, and I want to put on the newer version of those lights just like you did. I am just worried about fit and finish. So please show us how it turns out!!! Thx so much for your build thread, love this forum!!!!

Yeah I'm slowly piecing together my 03-05 to 06-09 headlight swap there are few threads that talk about what all goes into and what you need. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/203327-how-do-03-06-headlight-swap.html#post2088772 this is a nice thread talking about it but I will post pics soon of them when i finish them waiting on the headlight trim piece and still need to buy bulbs and what not probably going to go with LED bulbs

Today put my Rola roof rack on. I put the mounts on different so it sits a little lower to the roof. Alignment was done yesterday numbers are alright nothing too crazy but now I definitely need to cut my fenders. Ordered everything I need for my headlights. All led bulbs and trim pieces will post pictures when i get it all in.

Finished up my headlights completely i Used led bulbs for high and low beams they are a company on amazon and decided to give them a shot. They come with a two year warranty and so far I'm happy with them. The headlight does have some condensation but i think it was due to me leaving them in the cold without bulbs in them and it was raining. Fit and finish I'm happy with there was some trimming in the housing to make everything fit fine. I followed http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/203327-how-do-03-06-headlight-swap.html#post2088772 thread and was super helpful. Painted, primed and clear coated the headlight trim and looks decent used color match from orileys Cutoffs will come later

Had it piped out the side behind my rear tire also cut my mudflaps and installed my Scan gauge in the top corner of my windshield just used some velcro to secure it holds really well actually

A Little Update

So to update my build thread
I recently lowered my boss front coil overs to a inch and a half and put on a supreme suspensions 2 inch spacer lift in the front end to give me a total of 3 1/2 inches of lift. Rides a lot better and there is no harsh preload like there was originally, still need to get it it aligned, have a weird sound when I'm turning left. Sits at about 39 1/2 up front from the ground and about 40 In the rear. Might be changing to just the regular super flex coils in rear to drop it down but right now I am happy. Although the stock UCA's are supper close to the coils so soon-ish i need to replace them.

Also installed a dual USB charger and I got my CBI ditch brackets and GG lighting hyper spot pods up front, they're pretty bright.

Four wheel parts was having a grand reopening so I picked up a ninety-five hundred pound winch for 270 and already bought synthetic rope to replace it, hopefully soon I will be ordering a Demello off-road bumper with three hoop
but looking for sales to save some money. Also got a sub with built in amp sounds great for a 10

Buddy got a 1st gen we are fixing it up and gave him my old set of General Grabbers. Also went to the snow the other day random pics.

hows the front rub with 33s? Did you do the bmc and push back the liners?

Honestly its not that bad. I haven't done a Body mount chop... yet, Yeah I did trim the front fender wells and pushed them forward a tad because they would rub with slight turning.

Just installed my new Demello off-road three hoop bumper along with the 9500 pound Smitty built winch and replaced the cable with synthetic. Pods are ordered for the front cutouts and a 30 inch single row light bar:llama:
ready to go test this baby out :girl:

excellent build man, the truck looks great!
hows the ridge grapplers treating you? Any ride quality issues running a heavy e rated tire like that? How is the v6 handling the weight of that set up?

Im leaning towards the ridge's 295/70/17's as well im just trying to figure out how much trimming to do before hand.

Also, can you provide links to where you got the 06-09 headlights and Trim pieces specifically. And which bulbs your using?

So far the ridge grapplers are doing great. Yes they are heavy and if I like these still when it comes down to when I need new ones I will go with 285 only because Im trying to get my gas MPG a tad better or ill go with the 33/12.5/17 C rated .
V6 is doing great coming from the 3.4 with front and rear swing out and full spare and sliders and skids it pulls hard still I'm not worried about power... sorta.

Headlights I got off amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0128SCKPE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Bulbs https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
