Yepp Crown King. Supposedly a pretty serious trail. Haven't been over there yet. I plan on doing most of my day trips in November when it starts to cool off. Today it was 106, which wasn't that bad haha.

My body got use to the heat, I actually kind of like it. The 4Runner stays cool, but doesn't seem to like the heat all that much. I do hate going on runs at 8pm at night and having it still be over 100 outside, that sucks.

Easy- stop running.

After my last fitness test in Afghanistan I told myself I'd never run again. I am in the best shape I have ever been now... lol

I ran for the first time in over a year on Wednesday since I told my buddy I would run a marathon in October so I can have a leg to stand on when I talk s**t to those people with the 13.1 and 26.2 stickers in their car windows.

Good to see you are having a good time. Trying running in humidity when its hot and it feels as if you are running in a sauna.

It probably isn't that hot in Colorado this time of the year.

How are your temps now?

I'm seeing 196-202 around town and in traffic. The most I've seen is 205 and that was in Big Bear last year when it was 105 F outside.

It looks like that new engine is running cooler based on the picture.

Ya the temps have stayed around the higher 180's and lower 190's. A typical day would be anywhere from 187-193 ish.
The highest I've seen with this engine is 205 but I was going up a steep grade in 5th and should have down shifted, but I was too lazy to do so haha.

The highest I saw with the old engine was 227 but I was driving without coolant and didn't know it hahah

I need help. My truck has been rather slow at start up recently. I'll turn the key and it'll crank but take a really long time to fire. I thought it was battery or alternator, but it cranks. It cranks slowly though. I can't really describe it.

Any ideas? Fuel pump?

Have you done the big 3 upgrade? How old is your battery old is your battery. They don't lay add long in the heat.

I need help. My truck has been rather slow at start up recently. I'll turn the key and it'll crank but take a really long time to fire. I thought it was battery or alternator, but it cranks. It cranks slowly though. I can't really describe it.

Any ideas? Fuel pump?

At all temps or just hot/cold? No CEL I take it.

Get a friend, pull a plug and ground it to see if you have spark right away as you begin to crank.

It could be. Not to plagiarize ya but the s^%t is old. My guess is that your truck is not used to the high temps of the desert.

I'm in LA right now visiting my girlfriend haha. But it does it on cold starts and it'll do it sometimes if I turn it off and then immediately back on.

No big 3 upgrade or CEL
Battery isn't even 2 years old yet and I've only been in the heat for 2 weeks of that haha

Sounds like it may be the starter, or at least the words you are using.

I've replaced the starter contacts before, can't remember how long ago, have to look at the first post, but still shouldn't be bad this soon.

I cleaned my battery terminals today. That didn't help. And my problem seems to be getting worst. I really can't tell if it's the battery or the starter.

If it cranks and turns over with normal strength then it may not be the battery or starter.

It sounds Spark, ignition related.
