So I was driving home a couple weeks ago on the dirt road where my house is located. South GA has been getting unusual amounts of rain and even flooding this year. Long story short, I lost control and landed my car into the embankment. When I was getting pulled out, my passenger door got caught on the embankment and basically bent it in half. The local body shop wants 1500 dollars to replace the door alone, so I'm trying to evaluate my options. Finding a door at a junkyard has proven difficult because the 2003 was the only year made with the plastic cladding. Can the 4Runners without the cladding, the painted models, be converted to have the cladding? Are they made differently? I found some doors for sale on eBay I may consider buying if I can slap my cladding on there.
I looked through about 50 pages of forums and couldn't find any information, so sorry if this has been addressed before. New to the forum.
