So for those of you who read my post several months ago about the dealership smashing in my rear bumper, you might kind of know what is going on.
Long story short, I took my car in for a TSB, the tech backed it into a hydraulic lift arm and F'd up my bumper pretty good. They took it to their body shop, had it fixed, then the body shop tech took another whack at it and F'd up my rear bumper again. During this time, I negotiated a front spacer lift including installation from the dealer. When I got it back, it had a front spacer lift installed (including alignment). Below is a pic of the bumper after they had their way with it. My first question is if this is enough impact to create frame or alignment issues?
After driving it a little after I got it back, I noticed that it pulled slightly to the right. I need to keep the wheel slightly to the left to go straight down the road, even with no wind and little to no crown on the road. If I center the wheel, it pulls to the right. I thought this was perhaps from having the spacer lift settle a bit, so I was in no hurry to take it back. Two days ago I had the tires (new Revo's with only 5k on them) balanced and rotated. It still pulled to the right. So I took it to a local alignment shop to have the alignment done. The front toe on both sides was out (left toe: -0.22, right toe +0.14) and the steer ahead was out (-0.18). The alignment shop was able to get the front end within specs (new front left toe: +0.06, new right front toe: +0.05) and the steer ahead is now +0.01.
The alignment shop told me the problem was in the rear end and that they cannot adjust anything on the rear end. My left rear toe is -0.11 and my right rear toe is +0.19 and the total rear tow is +0.08. The thrust angle is -0.15. From what the alignment shop tells me, the rear end is out of spec and it is the positive tow on one side and the negative on the other side that is making the rear end of my car push to the right, making me have to compensate with the correcting the steering to the left. I called the dealer, however, and they told me that my rear end measurements are normal and within specs. What gives??? :bash:
So for you guys out there, ARE my alignment measurements normal??? Is the spacer lift (even though the front end is now within specs) throwing off the rear end? Could this have been caused by the fender bender as seen above? I feel like I am caught between a rock and a hard place with my car still pulling to the right. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
