4th Gen Center Console Disassembly- need help

Long story short. I need to get into the rear ac vent because the air flow dial was jarred loose. How do I take the rear panel off of the center console so that I can get inside the vent assembly and snap the dial back into place?? Anyone out there have any experience with this or any advice? I can post pictures if needed. Thanks in advance.

First I have not done this myself but looking at the parts diagram it looks like there are 2 screws at the bottom under the garbage bag holder. (If that’s what that thing is) After you remove those screws it looks like its held on with snap clips so you should be able to just pop it off. I would start at the bottom and slowly work my way up.

Thanks for the diagram!!! I felt under there and there's some rubber bumper type things to keep the trash bag holder from rattling when it's snapped down in place. I'm guessing the screws are behind the rubber pieces. I didn't want to rip those out before I had a better idea. Now I think that's where I'll start. I wish the diagram showed the internal components of the ac vent. I am going to need to get inside of that or maybe replace that whole part. wish me luck. Thanks again!!

Thanks for the diagram!!! I felt under there and there's some rubber bumper type things to keep the trash bag holder from rattling when it's snapped down in place. I'm guessing the screws are behind the rubber pieces. I didn't want to rip those out before I had a better idea. Now I think that's where I'll start. You know, the more I looked at the diagram the more I was unsure of there being any screws holding it on. I went back out to my truck and got down so I could see what was there and it turns out there are no screws. At first I thought there were screws because the rubber bumpers have a cross mark in them but as it turns out that’s just an impression left in the rubber stopper from the garbage bag holder. So there are no screws there just a rubber bumper with some marks in it. Sorry my bad :cry2:

I looked up the clips on the console to see if I could find a pic but could not find one. From what I can tell it’s held on with 4 clips, 2 on either side, part #90468-05135, at the bottom. Base on the diagram it looks like you just pop these out at the bottom and then hinge the part up at the top. But this is a guess.

I tried this on mine but could not get it to pop apart. I played around a bit but could not find a good way to get it started without jamming a tool in there. But I was a bit hesitant to do this. Did not want to damage anything.

No, don't be sorry. The diagram actually helps quite a bit in allowing me to visualize my approach. Although I still haven't gotten in there, I plan on doing it this weekend. I'll post here to let you know how it goes. After looking at the diagram once more, I may try removing the screws that come in from the side (93568-55012) and see if doing that allows me to easily pop the panel out from the back.
