4th gen front hitch + cargo basket

I also have a front hitch. It's awesome. Not sure why it's not getting much love on this thread.

I originally thought I would only use it for my bike rack when I was towing my camper too. Not true. I almost always put my bike there now.

1) Easier to keep an eye on
2) Access rear hatch without removing bikes
3) I decide if a crash ruins my way too expensive bike, not the dumb ass behind me

I know, I am very surprised by the crowd on this thread. I am not looking for love, but it's weird to get all this hate. Some of it is just downright silly - will anyone go to get an inspection sticker with a cargo basket attached in the front?! And a guy with a stock 4R and some LED interior lights talking smack.

I don't understand your silly antagonism. Yeah, I like CBI products too. I run their frame sliders and they make quality products.

In my application, the CBI did not work with my light bar. Besides, even if it did, I wouldn't want my cargo mounted up that high right in front of my radiator blocking air flow.

Good for you to have gotten the CBI. Now work on the rest of your truck. A lift kit and tires might be a suggestion I would make, looks like you are sitting pretty low to get any use out of a CBI hitch (a winch isn't of much use in your truck as it stands).

I like it! How wide is it? As in, front to back, not side to side. I wish mine was just a few more inches wider so I can get my toolbox in there between the side ridges/rails.

Another front carrier lover here. I chose the Curt as well. I just like the lower position also, with my raised truck.
You should see the looks I get at the lake when I drop in or pickup my super jet on the front carrier at the boat ramp.
Being the 05 with straight (not angled) snatch loops, I ground down the sides of Curt supplied backing plates and bolted them in with longer grade 8 bolts for more strength.

I am considering a front hitch, as well, mainly for a hitch-mounted winch, but also for one of those hitch-mounted grills for when we camp, or are tailgaiting at sporting events. I never even considered a front cargo basket, are those even legal? I've never seen one, to be honest.

FYI:

You can run a curt MFG front hitch and your bumper light thingy AND a winch.

guys a little mod i did to my front carrier. drilled a hole and went to home depot to get one of these orange marker sticks to i remember that this thing is in front of my truck. i also bought the harbor freight carrier for a atv that pitches up a little more. as you can see from the pictures.

I do like the marker stick. I came damn near close ot rear ending someone at a gas station because I didn't realize I had a freaking 3 foot extension on my front (18" receiver extender plus the width of the cargo rack itself). Might add it to the winter project list.

I also bought and added these to the front and sides of the cargo basket itself:
