Thanks, unfortunately that's the one thing I like about the one I have (albeit old) is that it's a simple software bypass.

Isn't the software bypass only doable when the car is turned, then goes away when it's turned off? The newer gen NAVs no longer do this.

This bypass is awesome b/c it only turns on whenever you want and by the flip a switch. Easy to install (looks easy).

My parent's Lexus NAV are the same way, it's infuriating when you want to change something "on the go". My Honda, however allows you do whatever while driving. Love that.

Works for "older" NAVs. This is a Lexus, but Toyotas have the same buttons.
