4th gen Receiver on a 5th gen

Before you blast me for this maybe being brought up before, hear me out. I searched for a long time about 6 months ago and found out someone mounted a 4th gen specific draw-tite 75155 receiver on a 5th gen. I bought one and stuck it in a closet before I shipped off to South Korea for a year. I'm back on mid-tour and couldn't remember if it fit. I searched for 2 days and couldn't find the old threads that talked about it.

I'm installing it to be able to use a weight distribution hitch with my 16' tandem axle cargo trailer. I have a 03 v8 4runner but it is getting a little tired with 285,000 miles on the clock. I don't want to over stress the old engine so the new one gets the towing duties. Trailer is close to 4000 pounds loaded and 400 pounds tongue weight.

So, a draw-tite 75155 for a 4th gen will mount to a 5th gen. I have a 2015 TE premium and it mounted with minimal mod. I had to trim one spot on the passenger side bumper facia bracket. Took 2 minutes with a grinder. The only hiccup I have is relocating the factory 7 round/flat 4 connectors. The wires are too short and the bracket doesn't fit the new mount location. I plan to research an aftermarket one. Clip the factory wires of the stock one and solder them to the aftermarket one. I will add pics when it's done. I got interrupted because my 1 year old woke up from his nap.

Question for you / anyone who has done this - any follow-up remarks after having used this setup?

Also, I don't see the spare in any of the pictures, is there still room for the full size spare back there?

I am curious how this setup finished up and how it performs? Also curious if spare tire will fit?
Sounds like you still had to resolve for the wiring harness also.
