Pic of lift for 4th gen

Hey dude, here's a pic of mine , I have 2.5" Daystar lift kit front, 2" Daystar lift kit rear and 285/60/18's with Ultra Platinum Rims... the tire is a 31.6" (i believe) equivilant tire... the Nitto Terra Grapplers are a widder tire than BFG all terrain, and that is why i got them, a bit more stable, but it just sits right , if ya know what i mean... it rides great, but i can feel the road it bit more over my stock tires... as far as off roading.... these tires are really great.... i had went through a mud hole, and the water came over my hood !

Your setup will probably be the best for my needs (tighter driveability on all of our curvy roads while still getting better off road ability with much better eye appeal than stock. I just can't get past the look of less wheel and more tire as the baddest looking sets I've seen yet (285/75/16). I will more than likely go with yours though since I pretty much know I want a Sport so a 16' wheel is out of the question and I am not going to spend all of the extra $ for a Limited just to get XREAS.

well dude, the biggest thing for me was, one gas milage was still a concern.. in hawaii where i am now.. gas is $2.35 a gallon... rolling around on 33" for me is not an option... i had the 17" sport rims on mine but just wanted it to look different... i thought for so long about 20" with terra grapplers but more tire, less rim equals better ride... so i got the middle... i bought the 2.5" lift from daystar and i only put in a certain portion of my front lift... others swear it is not set up proper.. but i have seriously tested this puppy out on numerous trails and spoke to a shop manager at a 4wheel drive shop back home and daystar themselves... so..

my sport came with the XREAS system and don't let it discourage you from lifting one with it.. just takes patience... in live anything worth having is worth working for.. so, this lift, you have to work for it... i put in the full lift on one side and then didn't put in the small spacer that went between the spring and bracket for the front and it made installation much easier.. and you wouldn't think that installing a 3/4" piece of poly spacer would be that hard, but it took me 7 hours to figure out and do one side.... the other side without that spacer took me 45 minutes... so, i took out the small spacer and that is what i am riding on now.... the rear lift is CAKE...but takes patience...

i wanted to keep the front mud flaps on my truck, so i drilled tiny holes in the bottom part and tied them back to the chasis... the front fender well plastic ring in the fender, has to be moved also..... i have not cut anything... if you have any questions.. let me know

I will most likely go with the NE lift set as they have the XREAS reposition rigs and just seem to be a great product all around. That's amazing how much of a pain these installs can be....well hopefully with some help from a guy that is a mechanic by trade and patience we'll get it done in a day.

I also like the way your tires fill up the wheel wells better than some that are lifted higher; I never have like alot of space between the top of the tires and the wells...since I don't do any rock crawling or semi-serious wheelin', this shouldn't be a biggie...BTW nice rig. And who drew that sketch of you and your runner?...that's good work.

I have a friend that has a rack near me that will help me install the lift when I get everything together. I've just got to make up my mind now.

you'll definately get it done in a day! ... read 4Route's write up.. that is what i mainly used... read it all first though... some steps you can just figure out ... by the way, since you have to pull the front skid plate off to take off the front sway bar, you might as well change the oil and inspect everything under there too...

good luck.. and BTW... next time i will definatley go with the Toyo All terrains in stead of Nitto's... they are less expensive... and still have a good tread rating... my tires are wearing fine ... BUT i will say this.. i don't know what the hell it was.. but i bought my tires and rims seperate... .brought them to pep boys to have them put on... i noticed a big time wable and crap driving on the highway.. brought it to sears to have them do it , perhaps they were better , ya know.. STILL had the problem... it was only until i brought it by Desert Rat in Tuscon... while i was on my way to Los Angeles on a trip... that they fixed the problem... so when you get your tires and rims, be careful who puts them puppies on and balances...just a suggestion from the pain in the ass i went through..

What is the largest 17' tire anyone has put under a 3' lift and what kind of modification have you had to do to prevent rubbing?

Also, would anyone know the equivalent tire to a 285/60/18 for a 17' wheel? I will try the calculator that's stickied and see what I come up with.

All feedback is appreciated.
