Lol dealership left me a message yesterday hoping to get my business. I’ll might go for it if they give me $29 for the golf and $42 out the door for the modded TRD ORP. Doubtful they’ll mark it down so far from $48 but they have three of these things and they’re 2018s.

What do you all think?

$42K OTD is highly unlikely but it’s worth giving it a whirl since the Toyota clearance event has begun and they definitely want to get rid of those 2018s before 2019 arrives.

The rule of thumb is that you should always negotiate about the price of the vehicle you want to buy first before you tell the dealership about your trade in.
Because if you tell them you want to trade your current vehicle in for a new one,you won’t be able to haggle anymore since dealerships would tell you they could either give you the “best” price of your current vehicle and sell you the new vehicle at the price they ask or low ball your trade in and agree to drop the price of the new vehicle which are complete BS.

Dang. Good to know. I’ve bought exactly one new car in my life (my R) and I think the whole process is such a joke. Their internet sales manager left a message too now, so they seem motivated, or at least want to come off that way. I’m nursing a cold, so probably not the best day to negotiate, but I might call him back and just throw those numbers at him.
