4th gen tube steps!!

I have been looking EVERYWHERE and I can't seem to find anyone who wants to trade the regular side steps that I have for the tube steps on the SE's. Does anyone know where I could pick up some for cheap, not the junk yard, or of anyone that wants to trade??

IT's unlikely that you will be able to trade for the SE tube steps. Now and again someone takes them off to install sliders, and their tube steps come up for sale on the classified section of this forum. They usually go pretty quick though.

Found out when I could not see these or the tube roof racks on any Toyota parts site that these were actually port installed or dealer installed on the 2006 and up sport 4Runners. Some company here in the US made these for Toyota. Does anyone know who?

Shouldn't you have tube steps on your Sport Edition? Mine does.

Think only the 2006 and up 4Runner sport had the tube steps and tube roof racks. Someone from Canada posted on here that their 2007 (I think) 4Runner sport had the SR5 side steps and roof racks. He said all the 2006 and up 4Runner sport models in Canada had the SR5 side steps and roof racks.

I wish we could find out who puts these on them. It's a real pain in the a** because the style looks so much better with the tube side steps and the tube roof rack.

Like webby says they come up every now and then. Put up a wanted thread in classified section here and over on 120. Thats how I gave mine to another member. Saw his want ad over on 120 and told him he could have them for free if he picked them up. Of course he arrived with a case of beer.:cheers:

If you plan on doing any off-roading don't even waste ur time with these tubes. They'll bend like foil. Go straight to sliders.

I may be interested as the tube steps are a hassle for my wife and dangerous for my little boy (16 months and likes to climb). PM me offline and we can trade pictures and discuss doing it.
