4runner LED turn signals

Has anyone tried to convert the turn signals to LED turn signals? Any success? If so, how? I figured since the brake lights are LED might as well have LED's for blinkers as well. Thanks.
 
You can get the bulbs at v-leds.com and all you need is a resistor so they won't blink fast..

Haven't tried it, instead I went with PIAA superwhite turn signals for the front & rear.. My HID's are an extreme color called QB (Dark Blue) you can get them here: gothidkit.com
 
Beware of the hyperflash!! You will have to put a load resistor on each bulb to simulate current draw. Front turn signals=easy, rear turns=pita. Im still trying to correct my rear turns, you'll need a wiring diagram for the rear.
 
How do you like your 65K HID headlights? How long have you had them? Would you go with a lower temp or stay with 65K?

Hyperflash? So would you need resisters for front and rear? It sounds more complicated than it seems.

The 65k is phenomonal, highly recommended. I've had them installed for about 3 months. Way brighter than my wifes Lexus!!.. You have to wire a load resistor to each individual bulb so that it simulates a full load. LED's draw less current than standard filament bulbs so you have to recreate that or you will get hyperflash..meaning your turn signals going haywire ( super fast blinking )
 
Got my LED bulbs from v-leds. Also got the LED flasher relay to take care of the hyper flash since I'm not a fan of the resistors and had a choice with this truck.
 
Sorry about the old thread but I have been trying to figure this out for a few days and apparantly cannot search properly. When installing LES turn signals is there an electronic flasher availaible for the 2003 T4R to avoid the hassle of wiring in the load resistors? I have somewhat of a mobility issue and cannot really work on my trucks much like I used to so I just need the easiest way possible...

If you don't have DRLs, yes there are flashers designed to work with LEDs. A basic flasher is around $20 and a more sophisticated (single-tap signaling, multiple flash patterns, etc) is $60.

If you do have DRLs but don't mind losing the DRL feature, you can use the non-DRL flasher but need an adapter harness, it is not a direct plug-on.

Mine originally came with DRLs and made my own adapter harness, although there is a pre-made harness from Toyota.
 
So there is no way to keep the DRLs and use the special flasher then? Bummer. I really wouldn't mind losing the DRLs but I go to star parties on occasion and they really appreciate it if you turn your headlights off while approaching. The DRLs give off just enough light to see where I am going without ruining other people's night vision...
 
I don't know if I should still be beating this thread into the ground or stat my own new one but I still have a question. For those of you that used the load resistors where did you mount them? Right next to the light itself seems like an impractical idea so there has to be a good place further upstream, closer to the dash I would think...
 
I did all four of mine using the JDM ASTArs LEDs. I was afraid of having to deal with the load resistors on the rear lights so I just started with the front with the intention on working my way back. As it turns out they work just fine with just the two resistors mounted on the front lights. It flashes just like it did with the incandescant lamps. Anyone else have this work out for them this way?
