4th Generation, which one?

I am looking to buy a 4th generation. Not sure which to buy.
2003-2009 all the same body, right?
Which one is the best on gas?
Can you turn off 4wd on the ones that are 4wd?

On the V6's, the 2005+ came with the current 5 speed. 2003-2004 had the old 4 speed, which I liked better. 2006 Sport model is my favourite; they did some cool options with the roof rack & step tubes. Totota started putting chrome bits all over the front end at some point later, so an older model might look nicer. The V8 is a beast to have. I THINK there was also a center diff on the 4wd models, this allowed them to be driven in 4wd all the time.

I'm not sure; other than when I would tow on the highway & it would slam into third gear, It just seemed less busy.
