4WD disengage problems

I recently engaged my 4runner in 4lo (L4) backing a trailor full of furniture through my gf's yard and parked it over night. Woke up early morning and attempted to switch it back to 4hi and 2wd only to hear a beeping noise and flashing indicator on the dash not disengagingat all. I tried neutral forward and reverse while trying to switch out only to still hear beeping and see flashing. I dont use 4wd often so I assume the actuator could be frozen or I may have a blown fuse. I love my 4runner but I'm not technically savey with it... any advice so I don't have to spend 50$ for a dealership just to look at it? Also my sunroof won't close all of the way, both problems occurred within 2 weeks although i doubt they are related

Try pressing the brake peddle all the way to the floor. The first time mine did that I was thinking the same thing.

My actuator was stuck when I bought my truck. What i did was while running apply emergency brake put it in neutral and get under the truck and tap on the actuator with a hammer it started working again after a few love taps...by that I mean i didn't have to hit it very hard. after that I make sure I use it at least once a month....

This method seemed to do the trick, it was just frozen from not being used and needed some love. Thanks for the help!

It's a good idea to exercise the system at least one every month or so to keep it from freezing whenever you really need it.
