4wd doesnt seem to be functioning

so i locked it in 4wd today and it didnt seem to work its not add it has lock outs


truck sat for a long time i locked the hubs in and drove it about a mile before trying it no popping no noise just no power in the front wheels

where do i begin diagnosing this problem?
