4wd Problem

I have a 2000 4Runner Ltd that now does not want to come out of 4wd. A mechanic has looked at it, and the switches are fine(will disengage if manually crossed). He has also ruled out the sensors. I'm stuck in 4 high and the dash indicator light just flashes constantly.

Any ideas?

Its only full enged once its stays lit. Can you feel the steering bind when taking turns?

Yeah, you can tell that it's definitely engaged. Also, if I go into 4 low, I'm stuck in 4 low until the switch is manually crossed. It will go from 2 into 4 just fine, but not out of 4wd.

ya im having a similar issue with my 4wd.goes into 4wd just fine,button stays lit,and doesnt come out unless imonkey with the lever from h2 to h1 to n a few times.dont know what the problem is
