4wd to 2wd swap?

Hi all, just another question I have not looked under my 4 runner yet, is it possible to do a 4wd to 2wd with ease? I know most have a front diff and axle as well as pull the tranny and transfer case and change to 2wd, just seeing if any links etc for 2wd to 4wd or vise versa.

Just leave the 4Runner in 2wd mode.

Hi, I am guessing that 2wd gets better mPG, I am sure the truck is lighter, probably by 300-400 lbs and does not have to turn the transfer case, anyone have mpg between 2wd and 4wd? I may just leave it. I have a 99 limited 2wd before, and not getting a 98 limited 4wd, have not drove it to know the mpgs on the 4wd yet, so was just thinking of ideas, and maybe someone out there may want to trade trannys etc? or possibly a 99 limited 2wd for a 98 limited 4wd. Thanks all
