4x2 off-road action shots! post em up!

its a cornfed 3/2 with spidertraxx spacers in the rear (with the front spacers installed it was impossible to turn as the tire was rubbing on the body mount. possibly considering the chop mod at some point to get the spacers back on). tires are 295/70/17 terra grabbers.

heading up to arnold and bear valley on friday for the weekend so should get some "offroad" shots hopefully. looking to have some fun snowboarding

Sweet looking ride. Too bad you're not closer or you can go off-roading with us this weekend. I'll be the only 2wd there, but I should be able to do alright... as long as all the snow melts.
 
looks great man. wish there were more places like that around here for me to have fun on. its all developed or farmland.
 
I've been researching alot lately for a possible weekend trip to explore Mojave Road. I've seen alot of trip reports and based on what I have seen (except Ft. Piute) it seems accessible with our 2WD 4Runner's.

I figured if I survived Anza Borrego (Ocotillo, Fish Creek..basic sandy terrain) why can't I try Mojave. As a note, soon as I aired down my stock tires to 13/15 psi I had no problems at all and didn't get stuck.

I will be replacing my tires within the next two weeks with some BFG Mud's or AT KO's.

I would be interested in planning a weekend trip with you guys if you want. I have all the waypoints/POI's on my GPS for all the places we can trek in Mojave.

If this will be a 2WD expedition, I would highly suggest bringing recovery gear (shovels, airjack, bottlejack, hi-lift, etc...)

Now that's what I'm talking about! Let PM me and we'll try to get some of the details squared away.
 
So why don't they call 2WD 4runners, 2runners or 1/2 a runner? Hmm Toyota "HAFARUNNNER LIMITED""HAFARUNNER SR5" etc sounds/looks kinda cool. Sorry just being a smart a--.
 
Seems to me that 2WD should usually be more than 1/2 as capable as 4WD and, when it comes to hill climbing, it should be a lot more. Most of the flex is in the back and, on hills, most of the weight.

well come to find out that my buddy will be driving us up there so no snow shots this time. i did head out to palmeras road and stopped at a favorite spot to just chill by the stream. snapped a few pictures of the truck before me and my buddy drove off to find some mud. too bad it was too dark by the time we got a little dirty to take shots.

This was in Oct. on Shafer Trail. We tried lots of dirt roads but it got really exciting going down pucker pass!!! We barely cleared some of the rocks. Nothing hit though:dancin:

I love my 2WD 4Runner, it has less weight to haul around and less high dollar hardware to worry about breaking down. If one really and I mean really needs a 4WD 4Runner. Great. Myself 2WD works for me.

Looks like that mud pit did not slow you down at all. How were you able to keep traction in that thing? Just using forward momentum? Do you have a locker on that thing?
