4X4 Electronic System Issue

Help! My 4X4 electronic systems hasn't been working - crawl control, MTS, ATRAC, and electronic diff lock doesn't work, however I'm still able to engage the 4HI and 4Lo since I have a manual lever. My dash lights up when I'm in 4x4.

I tried looking online and the common culprit is a waterlogged 4x4 actuator. but I have a manual lever and the actuator is actually inside the transfer case (am I right?).

Any thoughts?

PS:
A mechanic cleared the error code so I don't have it anymore. There's a horror story with the shop that diagnosed the problem but that's for another day.

You are correct. The manual 4wd lever definitely rules out any transfer case actuator issues.

I'm not very knowledgeable about the Crawl Control, MTS, but ATRAC is tied to the ABS system so that could be the root of your problem. Maybe a speed sensor or wire has gone bad.

The rear diff could be an actuator problem, but it might have an over ride or fail safe that will not allow it to engage if the other systems aren't happy.

I guess there could be a problem with your 4x4 ECU. Hopefully someone with more facts can chime in. Good Luck.

Do the 4x4 models with the shift lever have the same neutral safety switch that the 4x4 models with the knob that selects 2 or 4WD like the SR5? It's the switch on the side of the transmission and some of the faults you posted you have are similar to a failed safety switch. There are a couple threads on this you can look up for more info.
