4x4 transfer case to AWD transfer case

Can this swap be done with little to no modifications? I have a v6 4x4 4runner and a v8 awd and was just curious if this could be done.

so you want to take your V6 4runner that can switch from 2HI-4Hi-4LO and make it a always 4HI-4LO?

There is no benefit in this at all. You can just put your V6 4Runner in 4Hi and you become AWD from that. It will become some thing as the V8 4Runner in 4hi.
