Hi everyone. I'm pretty new here but figured I'd show off my new plate bumper in case anyone wanted to see yet another front bumper option. I know there is a couple other threads on here about this bumper so I wont go too much into it, just what I found when installing it.
I started by removing the original of course which is exactly 8 bolts (14mm head) and 2 nuts (12mm head) and 4 wire connections to remove and it will drop right now. I then removed the the skid plate with a 12mm socket.
I used a buddy to hold the bumper in place while I quickly put a few bolts in the end of the frame bolt holes to hold the bumper in place. As soon as I put the front lower bolts in I lifted the bumper up as high as it would go till it was hitting the body and noticed the bolt holes for side of the frame were 1/2" off and it appeared there was no way I would make it fit. I tried and tried but it wasnt happening. I eventually realized I'd have to use a jack to raise the bumper up high enough to get this hole to line up with the threaded hole in the frame then bolt it down. I accessed the upper bolt holes at the end of the frame using the winch holes in the bumper. I used a utility knife to cut the plastic inner fender and will eventually go back with and clean the rest of it all up. I am still waiting on my turn signals from 4xinnovations as well as the dually LED fog lights and warn 9500lb winch.
I was impressed with shipping (shipped jan2 arrived jan6) and the overall experience with these guys. I originally wanted a shrocksworks bumper but kept hearing about 6 month waits and the higher price. I wasn't sure what I'd get for the price but this looks like a very high quality bumper and fitment is perfect, with all bolt holes fitting just right and the outter edges lining up with my limited flares spot on.
I have been on a rig working in south Tx for the past couple months and will be here for the next week so I just primered it for now but I will be dropping it all off at my local body shop when I get home to have it matched to the factory paint. I'll update this thread with the painted bumper and other parts installed later.
I forgot to add the bumper dropped the front suspension (bilstien 5100's with factory springs 2.5" lift) 1/4" up measured from center of hub to fender lip before with stock bumper and after with this bumper.
