Good morning. I recently installed an Icon stage 2 lift on my 4Runner with ome 2890 in the rear w/ icon 56514 , new bushings, diff regear, tires and wheels 285/70r17. I have the 4xinnovations rear bumper with swing out about 320lbs at the moment with the spare and 4xi front bumper with full hoops. I still have sliders and skids to install I’m concerned that the 2890 are not enough in the rear especially when I start adding gear for a trip and should go with 2891 any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated on what other people might have in the rear. Surprised your not already running 891's with that weight. I ran 891's for a bit (eimkeith rear bumper, f150 tank swap, spare [all for now] soon a sleep platform, fridge and swing out w/3 fuel cans.) They rode good, but sagged quickly. I put them in when I did the lc80 rear shocks, I needed to compress them for install. After 2-3 years at full droop the springs fell out. I'm now running lc80 7.5 wrap (what sonoran steel recommends). They are great with how the 4runner sits currently, but as many have stated, can't hold weight. So when I'm done with everything a set of dobinson c59-210v's are going in. It sucks but you'll have to find a spring you like with the weight your carrying.

Everybody has a different idea of what the correct lift height is... Just keep going up in lift height/stiffness until you get what you want with the load you have. I think those are rated for 0-2" lift, so they are a 'standard travel' shock, so keep that in mind.

Tons of people use air bags for load leveling and control. Maybe not a lot of people on these forums do, but there are some who do. You can find posts about them with a search.
They are made for a reason and used by a lot of people successfully. My uncle uses them on his dually when towing his 5th Wheel trailer, for example.
