5-prong independent lower switch

i bought some rocker switches from otrattw.net the ones with independent lower. so when you turn your lights on at night, the switches will light up like they are factory switch. i am trying to figure out which wire on a 3rd gen you connect it to to light up?

Use a fuse tap and tap in to either your ignition or dash light circuit. It's pretty self explanatory. The fuse panel is on the driver side under the dash, near the floor, to the left.

The lights in the switches will come on when you turn the lights on then.

I have my switches below the headunit. So I taped into the cigarette outlet. The switches only use a small LED. So all good.

So would this require 2 fuse taps? 1 for the device you are powering through the switch and another for the lights to mimic factory behavior?

Yes the one to the light up the led when the headlights are turned on is impendent from the other. I just wired mine so the led is on all the time and jumped the power source wire to the other led positive.

If you are running a light bar. I suggest a relay. Thus the relay will powering your source. And from relay it goes to the switch. The independent lower LED can be simply tapped into any wire that illuminates anything in the car with the lights in ON with a simple t-tap. I run 3 rocker switches, all 3 of them have independent lower LED and I just have them in one and taped into the cigarette lighter wire that illuminates the outlet. No issues. No need for a fuse. It's 1 small led. That takes less power then idk what lol. Don't loose sleep over it

i am totally new to electrical stuff, just 2 months ago i paid someone to install my head unit they claim is DIY. just finished my 1st custom project with LED turn signals.

i have 2 rocker switches i'll be installing, one for a light bar, and one for 2 pods. both already are wired with a pre-made harness that includes relays and fuses. but the switch it comes with is a 3-prong, only lights up when turned on. i removed the connections from that switch and placed them on the new switch, leaving the right to prongs alone. when using it that way, the top part of the switch is always lite. so i shouldn't need to do anything else, but tap into one of those wires (ignition/power) mentioned above....do i really need a fuse tap? thanks.
