Just figuured I would share this since I already have a minty 5 speed. This isn't mine I just found it. It supposedly has 50k on the clock!

I requested pics of the underside and about the price. I will post up here when I get them. If i don't buy it of course lol. Can never have too many 3rd gens lol.

Mileage is potentially fake. Steering wheel and gear stick knob wear doesn't match seat condition. The seats may have been recovered as the pattern is different from standard. Rear headrests in front too.

I agree on the mileage it is pretty grimy for a 50k interior. The sr5 never came with leather, mine was port installed and it matches mine so it probably is Toyota its just not like that from the factory.
Mine had what appears to be either port install or aftermarket flairs too, I think the 99+ sr5's had that option.

Could have had the parts replaced for the fuel gauge TSB. If that's the case, it costs more to have the gauge replaced with a "custom" odometer number. Maybe they replaced it with a new gauge that read 0 miles to save money and this is 50K after install.

This guy also had it posted on autotrader before they replaced the rear bumper. I guarantee it's a rust bucket underneath. He had it posted two weeks ago with a SUPER rusty rear bumper on it and said in the comments "new rear bumper on the way". I just bought another 3rd gen last week and I was seriously considering buying this one until I saw the rust.

Yep. Both were options. The flares are slightly different than the limited flares since they don't have to accommodate for the lower cladding as well as the taper at the bottom is more rounded.

Ever since we discovered a few frauds threads on here everyone is so skeptical about mileage lol!
It's possible it was only driven in the winter during the 50k miles it saw and the owner didn't rinse off the undercarriage, allowing the salt to do its dirty work all year long.

I agree the steering wheel and shifter knob look oddly worn.
Then again maybe I am just biased. After a couple bad experiences (including a nissan frontier with an obviously bent frame - the salesman "knew nothing" about it), I tend to automatically assume that every used car salesman is a scumbag.

I definitely believe the mileage could be accurate. My problem is that if the asking price is indeed $13.9k and there are good bits of rust, then the seller is being deceitful.

Factory Oak Leather was a factory option at least on '97 SR5's. It even states that in the brochure.
I also bought my '97 SR5 with the optional factory installed Oak Leather. I'm not home to look at my Monroney sticker, but IIRC, it was approximately a $1500.00 option.
Gray leather as seen in the link, was aftermarket. It was made by a company called Katzkin, and installed by their vendor. It was a common practice. My Sister had a Gray leather Katzkin kit installed in her 2001 Millennium Silver SR5 4Runner, at the time of purchase.

Original owner of an SR5 with factory installed oak leather. You definitely have leather which was installed by dealer or port. Your flares are factory installed, though.
I have another 96' SR5 with dealer/port gray leather. I'll have to look for any Katzkin tags or markings on them. They have Toyota logos stitched into the backrest portion. I would say that the quality is poor compared to the factory leather. The stitchings are breaking and the leather on the door is delaminating.
