5 Speed Transmission Shift Smoothness

Looking for some feedback from others. Perhaps it's because I'm just paying more attention but I feel the transmission shift from 1-2 and 2-3. The shifts are quick and "firm". This typically happens under light to moderate throttle with shift points around 1800-2800RPM. Its hit it miss, sometimes they're smooth and sometimes thry can be felt. Full throttle shifts are smoothe and nearly seamless.

The transmission fluid has been changed completely twice with no change in operation afterwards. Fluid level is spot on and only WS has been used.

Hopefully others can chime in on what their 5 speed behaves like.

Sounds healthy. Maybe try a over-the-counter softener if you're experiencing discomfort. Or maybe try getting some more fiber.

You are describing the normal operation of this trans. I've also driven a GX470 which behaved exactly the same. I bought my 4R with 128K miles, changed drivetrain fluids about 1K later, trans behavior did not change one bit.

I've spent time in Southeast Asia where they use squatties, they are a bit easier but you just have to keep your balance and not topple over.
