50" LED light bar using slagfactory.com gutter mounts

Did you drop your entire roof liner to install this? Wondering how you got space to put those nuts on

Sorry for the super late reply but to answer your question. I removed the pillar plastic and the "oh s#!+" handle and pulled it down enough to install the nuts with a nut driver to hold them and ratchet from the top. I unbolted the airbag in the pillar just because I didn't want to accidentally hit it with the drill bit. Hope that helps.

I'm putting a new 50" curved light bar on my 2004 T4R SR5, but I want to order the auxiliary light button for inside my cab. Does anyone happen to know the link for this button, where you can have the button down by the middle console?

I've got a curved on these mounts, it whistles a good bit. And if you find a button that fits let me know!

thinking about getting a mount from slag factory. do you have any close up pics of the wire coming from the bar and where you ran it from the bar to the battery?

You fit a curved bar on the SLAG mounts? I was curious if that would fit - what size bar do you have?

I'm also interested in this question. He only mentions the straight bar on the website.

EDIT: That was his only post. May not get a response.

I ordered a 50" curved bar this past weekend and the SLAG mounts - Worst case scenario is I'll have to do some minor tinkering to get it to mount properly - I will report back in case he never responds.

Awesome. Thank you.

So I got the mounts and bar in and on. I did a lot of modifying because I wasn't a fan of how high the light bar is mounted in the set location on the slag mounts. I can confirm that a curved 50" bar will work with minor bending / molding of the mounts (that's not to say they bend easily, but it can be done)
I ended up trying to bend them way too much and made it difficult for myself.
Also - I'll likely end up replacing the self tapping screws with nuts and bolts at some point, I'm sure they will do a fine job but I doesn't feel quite right to me.

That's good to know man, I appreciate it. I've never liked the idea of putting that big ass light bar on mounts held by self tappers. Bolts and nuts are the only way to go.

I just fabbed up some mounts for my "stealth" light bar today, so I fully feel your pain.

i just ordered my lightbar and haven't ordered mounts yet.
I guess the Slag ones are the best for 4th gen?

Has anybody ever used or considered rivnuts / nutserts? I've used them a bit before and would do this definitely before self tappers and possibly create a better seal than the nut & bolt method.

Subbed for pics and diy.

Also found this for the glare shields...

Also, a valuable observation: the newer lightbars out there with the 4D / 5D projector lens systems in them glare hardly at ALL with superior optics that focus the beam better.

Commenting to follow thread. Ive been having a ton of issues with my SlagFactory mounts where the mount is actually folding the weather stripping over and allowing water to seep in. Its definitely frusturating, especially considering the cost of the mounts.

Curious if it might be an install thing, but I look to have installed in more or less the same place. Any advice on how to try to stop it up? I dont think I can silicone the gaps as it will tear something on the stripping or prevent the door from opening. Maybe more rubber to seal it tighter?
