50" LED light bar using slagfactory.com gutter mounts

i just ordered my lightbar and haven't ordered mounts yet.
I guess the Slag ones are the best for 4th gen?

Slag doesnt make them for curved yet as far as I know. Theyre solid but see my comments regarding water seeping in. There is no install guide or direction provided so you just kind of have to go at it yourself. But let me know if they work out and how you may keep water from getting in.

Commenting to follow thread. Ive been having a ton of issues with my SlagFactory mounts where the mount is actually folding the weather stripping over and allowing water to seep in. Its definitely frusturating, especially considering the cost of the mounts.

Curious if it might be an install thing, but I look to have installed in more or less the same place. Any advice on how to try to stop it up? I dont think I can silicone the gaps as it will tear something on the stripping or prevent the door from opening. Maybe more rubber to seal it tighter?

Sorry you're having issues :/ I actually haven't worked for the company in over 3 years now but the owner Scott is still a good friend and an awesome guy. I would give him a call and tell him what is wrong and I would guarantee he will help you out to fix the issues and make the product better. He is truly one of the best people I've ever met in my life hands down.

That is the first issue I have heard of with those mounts, I am sure Scott would really like to know about it so it doesn't happen in the future. He obviously has no idea this happened (unless I am completely wrong and you have talked to him). Give him a call at (530) 693-1663. Leave a message if he doesn't answer, he will return your call. If not, just keep calling, don't feel bad about it lol. Hope you get it worked out! Rob

what a ripoff! I run a windshield banner. run a plain one if you dont want a design. 15 bucks in vinyl.

Haha exactly. That is expensive...especially since it is just some thin flat bar and a couple tabs from Home Depot. Id pay $75 if it were one solid piece and powder coated.

All Terrain Concepts sent me the new 42" slim radius bar with amber inserts, a 14" super slim, and the 8pod rock lights I am going to run on the 4runner when the build is finished. I also bought a Trigger Controller (through ATC) www.triggercontroller.com it's pretty cool, check it out.

I will be using a fairing or whatever you want to call it for the 42" bar though... I used to have zero issue, but after using it multiple times at night especially trying to go irresponsibly fast, the slightest turn of the bar or different mounting position or even reflection off snow/moon/sky at night will kick the light right back in your face either from the hood or reflection off the windshield itself. I don't think it matters what mounts or bar you use, but any light on the roof is going to end up glaring back at you off something. So with my experience with running a bar for four years the fairing is a good idea.

Thanks Rob, Ill reach out, its definitely a problem for me, even something as simple as car wash

He was pretty hard to get ahold of initially when I was purchasing, but Im going to try reaching out again and see if he can offer some advice. Im definitely not seeing an easy fix to this other than just removing the whole assembly and trying a different mounting bracket.
