$500-$600 to blow

I've got 500-600 to spend on some stuff for my vehicle. All I have is a 2" lift. Anything else you can think of, I likely do not have.

Part of me was leaning towards one big purchase, such as rock sliders or skid plates. Another part thought it might be nice to have a bunch of small stuff: LED lighting interior, HID lights, air compressor, CB radio, GPS, etc.

How many miles on the rig? It is recommended to replace the timing belt at 90k if it hasn't been done yet. You'll have to scrounge up 200-300 more for that.
Besides that, it all depends on what you want to do. Sounds like you want to do some trail riding with sliders and skids on the list.
The smaller things are cool, too. There are many upgrade options for these vehicles. It all depends on what you like, and how deep your pockets are. There are tons if solid write-ups on customizing. Keep reading and enjoy your findings.

Blow huh? Blow some of it over here to me :laugh:. I always figured maintenance was a big deal for me before mods as it keep your rig running and the mods keep it fun. 50% of the money on needed maintenance and the other 50% on a few mods that you listed.

I just spent a chunk of change on the timing belt (and some other belts), water pump, plugs, fluid drains, basic tune-up. Mechanically, I'm good to go.

I don't do anything too crazy, but every time I go over a bit of a drop or come close to rocks I anticipate a "crunch" of my running boards.

I'm keen on upgrades that allow me to be safe and prepared. The air compressor is of particular interest to me. But I keep thinking that I have a solid vehicle, well maintained and in good working order... what upgrades can I make to protect that investment.

I started with the smaller mods…head unit, led interior, sliders, spacer lift, lots of small stuff. Now I have reached the point of wanting to do the big stuff…more lift, skids, winch.

I would do the skids first, that way theres no fear of going over anything and hearing a crunch. I got a air compressor from pep boys for $60 and it works perfectly, takes about 10 minutes to fill all 4 tires.

I'd take an honest look at what you do with your t4r. I personally am all about making my 4 runner "MINE". As in I like to customize it my way. My needs were not so much towards 4 wheeling so I went with a nice set of wheels. Totally changes the look and if you get a set like nobody else has then it is a little more unique. Secondly was the sound system. I like my music very clear the way music was meant to be heard....Good luck.
