5100 + OME coils on V6

Trying to get some thoughts on adding OME front coils to Bilstein 5100 shocks on a 2007 2wd V6. Read numerous threads on V8 and 4wd but not sure of the results on a 2wd V6.

Currently have Bilsteins set a 0.85 lift + Toytec small spacer. Ride is great. At first, we went up to 1.75 and also 2.5 lift and found both those settings to firm for us with the compressed coil. At .85" the ride is great and the small spacer gives us extra height.

Bottom line is we now want total lift of about 2.25"-2.5" (have about 1.75" now) so looking at swapping in OME coils either 883 or 884. Does anyone have experience with how much height is gained with these coils? I'm finding numbers all over the place.

I have a generous 2.5" on my '04 V8 4WD with OME 844 on Bilstiens @ 0, My guess would be closer to 3" on a 2WD V6. Call Toytec or Slee Offroad and they should be able to recommend something.

OME 883 is the safer bet if looking for a smaller lift

I love it. Firmer than stock, but not super stiff. Backend feels off (bouncy maybe?), but I'm guessing that is because I haven't upgraded the rear springs. That or my rear arms need new bushings.



I plan on finding a stock 4Runner and taking a test drive to compare the ride. Its been long enough it is difficult to guage actual difference

great thanks for the opinion! We were running Bilsteins at 1.75" lift (stock springs) and thought that was just a little too firm . Dropping down to 0.85" lift is better for us.

Let me know your thoughts if you get to ride in a stock 4runner. Otherwise I may go ahead and buy the OME 883 or 884 coils and try it out.

I'm new to aftermarket suspension. I wanted to ask how much difference there is with the OME vs stock springs in terms of height, stiffness, and ride comfort.

I have 885 front and 889+1.5 spacer back on 5100 all around. It settled for sure, front springs at 0. I need to adust front to .85 to get some more stiffness to the front as well. Dives at the front during braking more then my old xreas, kinda hate that part. Otherwise great setup.
