5k mile service

Going in tomm morning for the 5k service. I'm going in lifted with 285s and few other bells and whistles. Hope they dont complain about the mods. Anything i should ask them to do? Current milage on the truck is 3800 miles. The 285s are new, so i dont expect them to rotate them.

If they aren't rotating your tires they will be doing nothing. "Checking fluids" but that's all, oil change is at 10k.

I just took mine in for the 10k service. They said nothing about the lift and offered to rotate my new 275 tires!!

Pay for an oil change. I did at 5,000. Good to get all that break in shit out of there. Cheap piece of mind in my opinion.

You can get the oil change early by getting the "10K mile service" on your 5K mile service. I did it on my 2 previous Toyota's. Will on this one as well.

6 one way, 1/2 dozen the other, you get a set amount of oil changes so the only difference is paying for one now or in a couple years

Here at the dealer. He said he won't do an oil change and will not rotate my tires and will not balance my tires. He saidthe tires are aftermarket and they will never balance or rotate them.
What scumbags. So I told him look under the truck for damage and check fluids. He said they will only check and fill windshield wiper fluid. Again, what scumbags.

After this I'm going to get the tires road force balanced at a tire shop.

This dealer sucks.

The black is just really delicate. I really wanted black again, looks the best, esp with the blue sparkle popping. But was not available for 2016. Just looking at the black causes scratches. I've had it detailed a half dozen times at a few different places in less than a year and still had some slight scratches. Whatever clearcoat they use on the gray is way more durable. My first Toyota was gray and thought it was gonna scratch in the auto wash with all the salt on it, but surprisingly, it held up and was swirl free.

They prob just don't want to be liable for it since it's not a factory part. Or you can always call up Corp and have a higher up at the dealer look into it. Best bet is to go to another dealer.

When I had my FJ, the Tech I used at Toyota advised me to never have any of my vehicles run thru the auto washes, he's seen Lexus paint ruined in the car washes.
I have mine paint correction buffed about every 6 months. mine gets hand washed only.

Because you didn't buy the tires from them?

That makes no sense. My tires are aftermarket, never had the first instance on any pushback.


Agree, call corporate, get a case # and go back to the dealership....
and get your stuff taken care of.

Had an appointment for noon, still waiting. Super pissed off right now. Just yelled at the guy said I had a noon appointment and the truck still sitting there...he says ohh will work on it now. God my patience is running paper thin with this place.

Why do you need them to balance the tires? Whoever installed your tires should have done it. That said they should rotate them. My dealer did at 5k and I am running 275 70 17 ko2 icon stage 2. They also won't do an oil change on 5k your rig doesn't need it.

The tire guy put on my 285's, balanced them, I had shimmy in steering wheel at 50mph to 60mph. Brought it back to them two times, steering wheel still shimmys. I'm done with that place, going to new tire guy that has road force balance machine, hopefully he will do it the right way the first time.

Yes, there is always a possibility. It also depends on how much soap they use and if the car before was really dirty or not. It's just been my experience black seems soft compared to gray.
