There are very few 5th gen recalls to the best of my knowledge? I can tell you if the 6th gen has a V8 option, my 5th gen is a gonner.

I believe that previous generations averaged 7 year spans. The 5th gen is going on at least 9 years but will probably be 10 or 11 years of the same gen. There are not many choices for mid-sized BOF SUV's these days as there were in the 90's. I hope the next gen is another BOF and it doesn't have the engine they gave the tacos.

OK so that's 1 recall. What else is out there? Toyota is not the only company that has this airbag recall either. This is also not a defective Toyota part, Toyota did not make these airbags.

lol yeah but it is one MASSIVE recall. You're talking about a few hundred thousand trucks and that is just the 4runners, there are all the other models too.

No changing of rules and it's still 1 recall no matter how many models it soaks up. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, has the same airbag recall on the same scale if not larger. Not sure who else used these airbags? I haven't received a notice on my 2016 yet but I assume I will at some point.

The 2014 update really helped this generation a TON. Can't lie, I wanna barf when I see an early SR5. Can't believe they actually released that, and I think sales showed.

True, but a 10-13 year model Trail edition is one fine looking truck. Just glad sales are sizable and hope Toyota sees the value in this vehicle for the US market going forward.
