I think we're taking separate approaches to the cause of a rollover. certainly a high centre of gravity increases the likelihood of a roll over in some situations, like after a driver takes evasive action, say to avoid a collision. I would suggest that the likelihood of a roll over after many of the collisions you are likely to see on a regular basis is unlikely.
I am certainly not a crash analyst, but most of the rollover test videos I have seen with SUV's take place on a skidpad
this is the situation I am exemplifying when I say 'skill of the driver and their propensity for taking evasive action'. you two seem to be talking about a rollover event after a collision impact. I would think that is a much less common event - which granted, may be made worse by increasing ride height - than the vehicle remaining upright after impact, given that most collisions occur at slower than highway speeds.
The vid that Harper posted is a 40 mph test. now you tell me, is there more risk in this exact circumstance from a 3" lift, or from removing the body mount?
