5th Gen Cold air intake options

I have a K&N but I honestly did it because, depending on the day and the mood, $50 is easier to waste than invest.

Save for the K&N sticker on the intake box, the slight increase in sound at deep throttle around 4k RPMs, and the lovely obligation to now clean it myself, dropping in a new paper filter every so often is the better option.

Even if the 10-hp increase is true from AFE's system, are you really going to feel it and get your money's worth?

Gears you'll feel. Tires you'll feel. Brakes you'll feel. Suspension you'll feel. Intake or exhaust you're really only going to hear.

Don't let people try and educate you on things they do not know or have experience in, I tested the AFE last year:

Hallelujah! Somebody answering that actually has direct experience/knowledge with the product ! ! !
The Dyno doesn’t lie… it just doesn’t. Better air flow produces more torque and HP…. always has.
I think some of these folks were looking for tune level results with an aftermarket intake. Sure… that will N0T happen. It will however provide a little more icing on the cake (cake=tune)

I went with the TRD version and K&N filter. It's been installed for a few years now and I would honestly give it a - Meh rating. I could take it or leave it. It was a fun project, I may or may not do it again on my 2023. I hate buying overpriced air filters.

Look good, sounds good. No real discernable power increase or MPG increase.
