5th gen flasher relay

How's it going, I was wondering if anyone knew about the location of the flasher relay on the 5th gens. I wanted to replace it for led blinkers/drls and didn't want to have to install a resistor for each bulb. I did see one post about this but it didn't get many responses. I've heard it may be sealed off and not assessable but wasn't sure. Any info on the subject would help. Thnx

It is sealed in an ECU.

Not sure how many have the LEDs in the Indicators/DRLs but a few of us are running some from V-LEDs, switchback. They have the resistors build in to the wiring and the fuse comes with it. However, they are about 130.00.

Thank you for the info on those lights. Once the weather gets a little nicer I'll probably go the vled route since I was impressed by what I saw on their website. I just need to build up the strength to spend $130 on lights haha

I think the VLED switchback is the answer if you can spend the money. They require no splicing of wires - just plug and play and they work like a charm.

No problem make sure you order all the correct parts for the 5th Gen 4Runner.
In addition to the 5k or 6k White/Amber you'll need to select the following two options from the order list.

[ 1 PAIR- 2 Pin-3 Pin Adapter w/YELLOW Parking Light Wire REVERSE POLARITY GEN 5 TOYOTA 4RUNNER

[ 1 Pair- Single Filament Bulb Base Adapter (Turn Only) 1156


Try to catch them when they have one of their sales. I got mine for 15% off, another member got his for 20% off. Their sales seem to be timed around holidays. Not any major holidays coming up anytime soon, until the end of May; but, hopefully they do some kind of sale before then. When another sale does pop up I'll be getting some LED Reverse Bulbs.

Great thanks again, and regarding reverse bulbs, I bought extremely cheap ($2-$7) ones from eBay and they have not failed me yet. Super bright and have a minor tint of blue. Here's a pic of mine.

(Not sure how this pic will turn out or be viewable since I've never uploaded anything before haha). I would assume, however, that the ones from vled would be better for quality purposes in the long run, but hey, something to consider.

Pic turned out well. Does that blue tint impact the viewing quality of the reverse cam?

I have not experienced any camera quality problems. I actually never even knew that the bulbs had a little bluish tint until I wasn't the one backing up my car haha. I also used the same bulbs to illuminate the license plate. It adds a nice effect at night.
