5th gen floor mats fit 3rd gen?

Hello, I'd like to give a friend with a 3rd gen some factory all weather mats for the 5th but wanted to see if they would fit.

Did you ever find out if they fit? I have a 3rd gen and there's a set of 5th gen Weathertech floor mats I could pick up for cheap from a local seller.
